I have been working at Taubman Centers full-time

    Pros

Great benefits including good health insurance, dental, vision, long-term disability and employees are able to pick their lunch from a binder of restaurant menus (paid for by Taubman). Management really works to train you and keep you around for the long-term. People are generally proud to work here, and they're well-known in the community for philanthropy.

    Cons

Though it's nice that we have free lunch every day, we do not get lunch breaks. Employees can request to leave at lunch, and mine is flexible, but I hate having to ask permission to run to the post office. Pressures of changing shopping trends loom like a black cloud over the workplace.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to employees' worries about the company and address their concerns.

    Pros

The only good thing is that work days are 9 to 5

    Cons

Too many to list, working holidays, micromanagers, can't leave property to run errands, vulgar, terrible work environment, no advancement opportunity...

    I worked at Taubman Centers

    Pros

Great people, high integrity throughout. Highly respected within the industry. Without question, I enjoyed my time more with Taubman than any organization i have worked with throughout my career.

    Cons

As I suggested in my previous description, there is very little not to like about the Taubman organization. Great company, culture, people and product.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Taubman Centers full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Decent benefit package, but steadily being reduced

    Cons

No room for advancement. Managers and directors closed minded. Preference for hiring poorly qualified employees, instead of professional persons. Good workers not valued. Management operates on the principles of workplace gossip, among employees. Supervisors un professional, and un trained, not reprimanded by management, for un appropriate behavior and actions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire managers with credentials, and directors that have been trained in the industry.

I have been working at Taubman Centers

    Pros

Fair compensation, management communicates expectations well, excellent benefits, great outlet for networking, respected in the industry, outrageous employee retention level

    Cons

Little upward mobility because of company size, no defined career paths, trial by fire training process, position details were not clearly defined before hiring. Don't work here if you mind living in southeast Michigan

I have been working at Taubman Centers full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Taubman is a very employee focused company, has great people to work with, the senior management staff is very experienced, and they offer excellent benefits.

    Cons

There is very little room for internal advancement within the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would ask for suggestions from the field on how to improve the company and/or the processes and procedures that are implemented within the field. Sometimes there is a disconnect between what the corporate office is asking to be implemented and how it actually applies within each center.
