    Pros

Work with intelligent people who are very driven. Exposure to lots of different issues in education and society at large. Good networking opportunities.

    Cons

Low salary. Lack of support. Experience at school sites can vary. Sometimes it seems like the corporate TFAers just want to set you up then leave you.

    Advice to Management

Focus more energy on younger grades as this will have the greatest impact for changing the education landscape in the long-term. Be more transparent with corps members concerning unwritten codes of some school systems.

    Pros

-helpful, cheerful mentors who help you learn more about the company culture -solid events such as school visits that give you a better sense of what TFA's about -great office atmosphere; not a typical cubicle office setting

    Cons

-sometimes the work given isn't the most exciting nor thought stimulating (but that is kind of what I expected as an intern)

    Advice to Management

-keep doing you, you're doing great. -maybe try to get the other interns to collaborate together more than have them do completely separate projects

Work with creative, driven people that can create a network of support in your own school placements

    Cons

Little support received from TFA, many PLCs and PDs that were irrelevant to myself

    Pros

Very organized and efficient for a non-profit organization. In general people seemed to enjoy working at Teach For America, and they have a strong mission.

    Cons

The organization might be too hierarchical for some interested in working for a non-profit.

    Pros

"Who you know" Benefits motivation to help the community

    Cons

"what you know" ignorance and dedcation to saviour-complex be prepared to ignore their advice and just teach

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Great professional development and support. I was also very happy with my school placement. Teach For America is nationally recognized so it has been pretty easy to find a job after being a Corps Member. I love the mission of TFA and the values they bring. This was very personally satisfying.

    Cons

Saturday professional developments are annoying to go to. Some of my friends got placed in extremely difficult schools. Over two years I taught many different subjects and had some bad experiences with administration at my school.
