I worked at Teachers Federal Credit Union full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Excellent place to work while attending college, given the great flexibility with hours.

    Cons

The management was very conservative and dry. Repetitive office functions were stall and provided very little insight into anything deeper.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Loosen up a little, show the employees its more than just a job. Try to get them motivated to help others.

I worked at Teachers Federal Credit Union

    Pros

    good benefits, great people

    Cons

the company is too top heavy, not enough people on the bottom to support the top. HR is not safe, you cannot go there and speak to them about another employee, it always comes down and the next thing you know your fired...because you complained that an VP was using harsh wording with you......

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

stop making your employees feel like the scum under your shoe. you may want to start looking at why your employees are so unhappy and then they might want to actually work for you

    Pros

    Great benefits, college reimbursement program

    Cons

Interdepartmental fighting, executives seem not to care about the well being of their employees, little room for advancement after achieving entry level supervisor positions, senior executives seem to fight amongst each other

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More transparency is needed from the top down in order for the culture and morale to improve.

    Pros

Better than average pay. Lots of community involvement.

    Cons

Some employees get promoted to positions that they can't handle, or shouldn't have gotten. More or less if you've put in a lot of years, they'll promote you because of that rather than if you can really, TRULY perform the job. (Not all the time, but so far thats what I've seen.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When promoting employees, they should consider their EDUCATION (any degrees) not just experience.
