    Pros

We get a lot of time off.

    Cons

Raises are very few and far between.

    Advice to Management

Listen to and acknowledge ALL of the concerns of the employees, not just the concerns HR cherry picks.

    Pros

great benefits and perks, friendly workers, good client. lots of people here to learn from.

    Cons

don't seem to promote from within very often. the company seems to be a bit behind on digital. Pay is on the low side.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on the growth of the digital media department. TV may have been your bread and butter in the past, but digital needs the attention and resources in order for team Detroit to continue to grow.

    Pros

Good work atmosphere, good work/life balance, summer Fridays, bands stop by to jam, good facilities

    Cons

Some of the MP's are more authoritarian than they need to be, and that is causing some churn in the ranks at certain jobs. Also, there is too much hiring from the outside for more senior positions as opposed to promoting form within. People need to know there is a career path for then and that there is opportunity.

    Advice to Management

Take what has been shared in the town halls and implement the hell out of it. People are watching what happens from these and there is very little sense of movement.

    Pros

Team Detroit has one of the best agency cultures. It's open and collaborative and they are working towards better work/life balance. The agency has great talent, hosts fun events such as small concerts.

    Cons

Information is not always communicated down and not all groups are aware of the work other groups are doing within the agency. Compensation increases are infrequent and the cafeteria is expensive

    Advice to Management

Communicate or show the work more frequently from all groups. Continue the progress on flexible schedules for balance between work and life. Communicate the reality of compensation increases

    Pros

Great work environment with awesome personalities and fun people to work with. I especially loved working with Vice President of Production Patrick Iadipaolo who executed superb leadership and was an awesome mentor for me in life.

    Cons

The bureaucratic sludge keeps things from happening quickly here in the same way any multi conglomerate would. However the decisions they do make seem fair and equitable.

    Advice to Management

Don't allow perceived value based on ones ability to quit and find another job to give some people higher pay than those who showed loyalty and never looked elsewhere. I knew some people here that made less than their inferiors because of poor negotiation rather than lack of real value.

    Pros

Fun environment and co workers. Easygoing days/not too stressful. Has a cool brand to be a part of. Cool building to work in.

    Cons

Turnover rate is EXTREMELY high usually based on their low salaries. Hiring process is incredibly unorganized and slow.

They utilize their fun work environment as an excuse to not pay you the salary you deserve. They know they can easily convince recent grads to come work there for next to nothing so they are hiring constantly because people leave TD when they "figure it out".

They also like to brag about how they almost always hire interns. Which is great! But dont get your hopes up just yet...be prepared to make way below industry average. It's your call.

    Advice to Management

Compensate your employees fairly. They are a part of the largest advertising agency in the world and definitely have the funds to provide at least industry average.
And also, its not the "one of the best places to work" when people are constantly leaving...

    Pros

Summer fridays, flexible schedule, fun environment

    Cons

Difficult to get raises, questionable leadership in president of company

    Advice to Management

Listen to the little people, when multiple people leave the company because you change a practice it usually means its not working

    Pros

Awesome environment as a whole. Lots of days off.

    Cons

Departments can be very cliquey and unwelcoming. There are people in senior management who are not nice people and personal issues are expressed to employees. I had high hopes as an employee there and to have my experience cut short because my boss simply "didnt like me" and didn't want me on the team was disheartening. Especially when I displayed attributes of an employee who really wanted to learn the scope of the job and do well.
