    Pros

Cash profit sharing, very focused on safety, lots of safety training, there are some really good people (Teammates) to work with.

    Cons

Low pay, Nepotism at its best, managers hire and promote their sons and brothers who in turn hire their own and their brother in-laws also.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at yourselves, how much support do you need? Way too many managers and meetings that only make you look busy.

    Pros

Good people focused on being the best in the utility construction business. The tenure and success of many Teammates at the higher levels (20/30+ years) gives newer hires some to aim for.

    Cons

Turnover can be a problem in keeping crews together and working.

    Advice to Management

Continue to work towards being the best, empower Teammates to make decisions, give them a clear path of how they can make a career here.

    Pros

    I get paid. It's a job

    Cons

weak management with no organization and high employee turnaround. Driving expection can be 100+ miles daily. Company vehicle but not paid for commute despite ca laws. Ignorant of many of CA state labor laws. Benefits poorly structured so that no employee would be able to afford to choose to take them.

    Pros

    Good coworkers. That's about it

    Cons

Poor communication. Constant changes. Management hires people they know at higher pay than people they don't know. Some employees get away with murder almost (literally) while others are punished for the smallest of things. I do not recommend this company to anyone. Not while current management is in place.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Get all the facts before making a decision. Don't base decisions on race and gender.

  8. Very disappointing no one seemed to know what was going on

    Pros

pay is avarage for the area

    Cons

safety not followed, no barricades for traffic, shoring on trenches, no lunch breaks or breaks during high heat levels. If you want your employees to be bilingual then you need to have it listed. Having supervisors that don't speak English is not safe.

    Advice to Management

get rid of your middle managmement,,they are sucking the life out of this company..watch how they waste time and money

    Pros

Company offers health insurance, paid holidays, paid vacation, and 401K

    Cons

Company has had the same employees since they opened their doors 75 years ago. Very narrow minded individuals who can't think outside of the box. Upper management is mostly family and close-knit. They do not appreciate criticism even if it's productive and will punish those who speak the truth. It is nearly impossible to get anyone to make a decision even something simple.

    Advice to Management

#1) Make up your mind! You say you have all these policies and procedures in place but you change your mind daily. #2) Clean House! Out with the old and in with the new. It is 2012, if you insist on keeping the same employees you had in 1950 then bring them up to speed. They have no clue how the rest of the world operates. Send these individuals to some kind of continuing education annually.

    Pros

Teammates are a great group of people to work with. everyday is different, and you can see a job well done in the end of a project.

    Cons

They do not always pay you for your travel, or only want to pay one way. it is all in how someone bids the job. in most cases they want to start your time at the job site, even if you pass the office. they will have you drive home on the weekend on your own time. and back to the city your working in to save the per diem for the weekend.
