    Pros

I loved that I learned so much about tea. The education aspect it just great.
The benefits are inexpensive and comprehensive.
When the right staff is together, the sales process can be a lot of fun.
    Room to grow.

    Cons

Very stressful work environment. There are sales goals and requirements, which I actually enjoy. However, some levels of management can be excessively cruel when dealing with employees. Coorporate office is disorganized in that they don't seem to have a good grasp on getting their regional and area managers in line with policy.
The pay is too low to be reasonable. There is a lot of training that goes in to this job, and it isn't an easy job. The compensation does not reflect that.

    Advice to Management

Crack down on the antics of the regional and area managers. I know of more than one instance of store managers being told to disregard company policy. I also know of instances that could easily be categorized as harassment but have not been addressed.
When I was with the company, it was pretty clear that everyone knew who the problem was, but no one was willing to take action.

    Pros

Free Tea while working. You could make any tea you liked or wanted to try. There was no other pro to this job. It was simply a terrible job.

    Cons

Hours (hours picked up ONLY because people constantly quit and they had no one), management, ridiculous sales goals in an empty mall.

    Advice to Management

Have managers train each and every employee, I was never fully trained, I read a book my first couple of days. Create a welcoming environment for the customers, teaologist don't have to be so aggressive.

    Pros

Most are great people to work with. Great product and knowledge acquired. Good discount and ability to move up quickly if you are driven.

    Cons

Since the Starbucks acquisition company is very disjointed. Too many new initiatives causing confusion, lack of communication between departments. Different areas trying out different things and no consistency.

    Advice to Management

Before starting new initiatives, really review what you want to accomplish, test it and get real feedback from the field. Too many 'yes' men who are afraid of losing their positions if they disagree with the direction of the track that is being set.
