Pros
-great hands-on experience that will really make you a more valuable employee - here or somewhere else
-recognition of a job well done
-bonuses, albeit very small ones
-the ability to work from home occasionally
-great corporate HQ facility, including underground parking, on-site gym, on-site cafeteria, etc.
-they do make an effort to host additional fun extracurricular activities
-they seem committed to employee wellness, although the level of stress may undermine those wellness activities...
Cons
-the company strategy is in a constant state of change, so you are constantly in fire drill mode - you work incredibly hard to get a project implemented, only to have upper management change their direction within a couple of weeks, forcing you to take on the next fire drill
-communication from upper management is abysmal - layoffs were made recently and the only communication was by rumor and word of mouth - no official company announcement before it happened or acknowledgement after the fact
-the compensation strategy is to hire employees in at the bottom quartile of pay, although if you work hard and you have a good manager, they do make an effort to bring your salary up to a more competitive rate...after a year or so
Advice to Senior Management
TeleTech could go a long way by improving their communication of important issues. It would be easier to retain good employees if you compensated them more competitively and didn't try so hard to burn them out.
Pros
Gaining knowledge about the Google Adwords system
Cons
Commission threshold was raises by over 100% in 6 months. Which means your workload doubled for half the money. Every time the quota was raised we were given a reason why which would either make no sense at all or be clearly designed to deceive you. We were also assured that the quota would be coming down soon only for it to be raised significantly. During the interview process I was told the the average representative makes around 50k a year only to discover once hitting the floor that the base pay was 26k and the average rep made closer to 30k. Employees are treated as expendable and bad behavior is rewarded. This company suffers from an appalling lack of morality and if you are considering working at Direct Alliance or Teletech ......RUN AWAY.
Advice to Senior Management
If you insist upon cutting pay for your employees on a consistent basis be honest from the get go on what you should expect. You are running a scam in which your company clients have no knowledge and you do it on the backs of your employees.
Pros
The facility is nice and the company has garage parking as well as a cafeteria on site. The location well maintanined and has easy access to C470 and I25.
Cons
WIthin upper management the right hand doesn't seem to know that the left hand is doing. There seems to be quite a bit of turnover leading to a bit of a brain drain in key areas of support and operations.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat your employees like they are part of the solution and not part of the problem so the company can be more successful.
Pros
Decent Pay, work with good people, good resume experience, ability to work from home
Cons
Constant fluctuation of your shift when working at home. Constant mandatory increases and decreases in amount of hours required (as low as 15 one month then up to 25) NO regular pay increases based on performance for @ home agents.
Lure you in with promises of how easy it is to move up in the company if you work hard, have seen numerous rehires of formerly released Team Leads, and ability to be promoted is more a popularity contest than based on skill, performance, and prior work experience.
For the record .... there was a time when I recommended this company highly, Its amazing how a few poor management decisions *those put into management positions that are incompetent* can change your view on where you work.
Advice to Senior Management
When I got my job with this company they had a 4 of 5 rating across the board. Now you have a 2.6. Quit robbing your agents of benefits and steady income they can depend on, require a performance review NOT performed by current TL before considering agents for employment.
Pros
You work from home with a decent schedule that you get to pick from.
Great company not a lot of downtime like some other companies.
When its there fault for down time you still get paid.
Great training from home on phone and internet but still feels like you are in a class room training.
If you need private one on one with trainer you will get it.
Help is always there as long as you ask for it.
over all great company to work for.
Cons
You do need to have a very quiet and dedicated place to work.
You have to buy your own head set which you can buy one from them in 3 part payment they take out of your check.
Advice to Senior Management

Cons
Depending on th project or pod you are in the management can be totally disinterested in what a new employee is doing to just absent. Any real caring for new employees might exist but is not the norm by any means
Advice to Senior Management
Do not promote based on attendence.
When one is "nesting' have someone actually there if the need help, at the moment... Not when some gets a *chance8 after the customer has been on the phone so long that he in incohertly livid.
Pros
underground parking, onsite cafeteria, smart co-wokers and fair mid-level managers
Cons
senior management incapable of making a business plan and sticking to it; ineffective in communicating with staff;
Advice to Senior Management
senior management incapable of making a business plan and sticking to it; ineffective in communicating with staff;
Pros
The building has air conditioning.
Cons
This is a "revolving door" employer. That is why they are constantly hiring not because the client is expanding. If you are not presentable in public this is a place for you. You can be pierced anywhere, tatoo's anwhere. Teletech is a hub for anyone who can't get a job anywhere else. The client deserves better then to place people in a chair. United States Outsourcing at its worst.
Advice to Senior Management
They know what is wrong but it will never be corrected because as with any large corporation the money at the top is all that matters.
