Former Employee – worked at Telerx full-time for more than a year
Pros – Coworkers were great, everyone was friendly and pleasant. They gave adequate training to make sure you felt comfortable on the phone and keep reviewing you to ensure that you keep getting better. Our team had a lot of fun doing different activities and it was just a good work environment overall.
Cons – I did not like the taste of the coffee there, I don't know what was up with it but I just could not drink it. I mean, I am a bit of a coffee snob, but I just thought the stuff was just...rank. When I mentioned my thoughts on the coffee in a review with management, I got a bit of a snippy response. I thought that was kind of strange because if that's my biggest complaint, that's a good thing.
Advice to Senior Management – I don't know if it was the coffee machines or just the brand of coffee, but I think you can do better. It's an easy fix, so why not? Yes, the cost of a more expensive brew adds up on the books, but it's worth that cost to keep the employees caffeinated and happy.

Former Employee – worked at Telerx full-time for less than a year
Pros – The benefit package is comparable to other companies
Cons – Management is terrible. They discuss confidential personal info to other people & "target" employees that they want to get rid of (they have other employees report back everything you do and if you refuse then you are targeted which creates a VERY hostile working place.
Advice to Senior Management – Be fair and consistent. Stop focusing in on "playing favorites." Increase the salary rate because it is not comparable to the job rate.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Telerx full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Vacation non physical room for advancement-somewhat
Cons – Favoritism. There's room for advancement if you're "in" a lot of back stabbing ..rules being made as they go..no team leads
Advice to Senior Management – Teach more leadership

Former Employee – worked at Telerx full-time for more than a year
Pros – 1) My position was contractual- so it was very flexible.
2) I had a good boss
3) I felt well paid for this contract. Not all contracts have the same pay grade.
Cons – 1) Sometimes tedious work
2) No career path for people like myself
3) Lots of intra-office politics (sort of normal)
Advice to Senior Management – Upgrade the office look overall- right now it is dated, worn and sometimes dirty looking.

Former Employee – worked at Telerx full-time for more than a year
Pros – There were so many good people hiding in their offices. Like Whack-A-Moles, they'd pop out with a great actionable idea and get smacked back into their hole by the giant mallet also known as the Executive Leadership Team.
Cons – The place is never going anywhere. They promise white glove service and provide industry average....I don't even think they know they do that. "Living the Vision" values program was only taken serious enough to use as clever names for conference rooms. Off site meetings were expensed executive sleepovers that produced nothing but more "visionary" ideas that went no where. Meetings to talk about meetings to plan future meetings. Committees to form committees. I haven't wasted so much time since 8th grade summer vacation.
Advice to Senior Management – Enjoy your free ride on the Merck dime. You won't even know how to work in a real company. My advice to job seekers is to run away...this place will suck your soul right out as well as your creativity and drive.

Current Employee – been working at Telerx
Pros – The only "pro" is the relationships I've made with my coworkers, people like myself. Because we're all the "same boat," we all see and experience the same issues, for example; apathetic leadership within our program;lack of concern for us demonstrated daily by the senior program manager.
I like and care for the people I work with very much and in today's economic climate, this has the potential to be a "good job" or at least better than average.
Cons – The demostrated incompetence and apathy of leadership, from the program manager to the client services - account director on down to the training director. These individuals could care less about the individuals who are the back bone of the program we're in. They attend meetings in order to plan more meetings daily, leaving the call floor with no leadership; for these individuals -Telerx is a fun place.
When certain representatives attempt to give a notice of resignation, senior leadership will pull them aside, ask them not to resign and then off the record, promise the person a supervisor or now,"team leader" position when one becomes available. This can be corroborated by asking any number of agents in this large program.
Advice to Senior Management – Linda Schellenger and her senior staff need to look closer at the Kings Mountain site, one program in particular. It is my opinion that if the client who we work for was aware of the impropriety that goes on here, they might would have a different view of continuing their relationship with Telerx Kings Mountain and one of the largest accounts at this site.

Former Employee – worked at Telerx
Pros – The people. It's always fun to work with a large group of diverse people.
Cons – Everything else. Promotion is based on who you know and is essentially up to HR. The raises are not even worth speaking of, unless you jump for joy at a few cents added to your paycheck.

Former Employee – worked at Telerx
Pros – The pay was competitive compared to the industry.
Cons – What you see when you interview is not what you get when you join the company. My boss, the ELT and the CEO were totally incompetent. They had this "Living the Vision" program that was a total joke. It was not followed at all by leadership which was demoralizing (and shocking) to employees at all levels. I saw multiple firings of ELT members including my boss (which was good), but then their replacements which were every bit as bad. No wonder this company is tanking. It is a snake pit, and the management team fosters that kind of an environment, including the CEO. I couldn't get out of there fast enough.
Advice to Senior Management – I don't know where to even begin. Perhaps Merck needs to intervene.
