I worked at Telerx full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Liked a lot of the people I worked with, liked helping the customers that went with the account I was tied to.

    Cons

Management/Leadership positions filled from OUTSIDE the company, Pay scale was terrible with Horrible amounts for pay raises (even with exceptional work performances!). Most program leaders couldn't wrap their heads around the programs they were in charge of!
No real clear-cut directions. Your program orders could change from week to week with little to no warning.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

REALLY sit down with your employees and LISTEN to the issues, not just a glossing over of a "Oh, thank you for sharing! We'll look into that!" approach.

I have been working at Telerx

    Pros

Having your own cubicle and headset. Nice break room area. Meet new people.

    Cons

Kings Mtn. Management!!! Unfulfilled promises. The pay structure is terrible. Favoritism to certain employees. High turn over rate. Inconsistent coaching sessions. Cover your back to avoid being falsely accused by corrupt leaders.

Many dress code violations ignored. Pay raises are given to certain people. Not a place to make a career out of if you are a positive person.

Supervisors or Team Leads complain about their boss daily. Trouble makers and slackers are rewarded usually due the relationship with their boss.

Leadership is weak! They do not do their job. CSR'S have more knowledge and more of a Managerial background than those currently in Manager positions.

I have been working at Telerx

    Pros

Great benefits if your full time.

    Cons

The pay sucks. They start you out at 8.50 an hr w/ a little to no pay increase by your review in April. Management doesn't even know their jobs. Dress code is only enforced on specific teams, other teams wear what they want. Leadership doesn't listen to their agents about how to improve moral of the company and hope to keep employees from walking out, they just continue to do as they please and wonder why people quit and constantly call in. It's freezing in the building all day, even in the winter time. Our office has no control over it, it's controlled at head quarters who "says" it's set at 72. The temp in the building is really about 65. Some managers treat and talk to you like your the gum off the bottom of their shoes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A pay increase and a more laid back dress code would be nice. Turn on the heat. Make your management take classes on how to lead and talk to people.

I worked at Telerx full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent training and benefits, caring HR department and opportunities for internal mobility and advancement.
Supportive Department Managers and Team leads. PTO is fair and increases after five years.

    Cons

Compensation levels could be better. Individual cube set-up might be a better fit than the "island" workplace format.

I have been working at Telerx

    Pros

High turnover rates leads to opportunities for advancement if you want to be stressed out! Management cries daily and pulls hair because of their bosses. Ability to create friendships with like minded people.

    Cons

High turnover rate. Company doesn't accept doctors notes, no excused outages. Once you reach 3,5,7 points of 10 you gets write ups then fired at 10 regardless if it's reasonable or not. Leadership are not helpful because they don't know anything. Schedules change constantly and unexpectedly. Extremely fast paced environment. Seasonal calls can lead to hundreds of calls without enough people to answer. You are rushed to finish your calls while management goofs off. Leaders want you to lie and say they do their job. When clients visit you can't talk because they are scared you will tell the truth. Everyone talks about everyone like it's high school.Company doesn't care about employees....during a bad snow storm they put us in a roach infested hotel so we could answer calls for them instead of safely seeing employees home to be with their families. Leaders will harass you to make them look better instead of helping you. Slackers are promoted. Horrible pay...8.50. No values.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn your programs! Keep personal problems at home! If you don't like your job then leave!

I worked at Telerx full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It was close to home. (Horsham, PA)

    Cons

The turnover rate at this specific office location is outrageously high. They either make conditions so atrocious that they drive people to quit, or they do mass firings the instant they feel that their grossly high profit margin has taken the slightest dip.

The training program is the WORST. There is a tremendous amount of information you're expected to retain and no, there's no taking material to take home and study. It ALL must be committed to memory.

That leads to the unreasonable performance expectations. In order the "pass" training, you'll be put under rapid fire simulations. You have to not only do everything in a strict time constraint, but you'll have to score high in their very subjective ("I think you performed at an 85.6 level") evaluation system.

After you get passed that, be prepared to have the phone calls you handle picked apart on a daily basis. If you fail to work the customer's name in 3 times, you'll be told about it. If you fail to apply one of their hundreds of phrases for each and every problem the caller states, you'll be told about it. The culmination being, your performance evaluation, which determines raises, will be effected. (Or used as a convenient excuse as to why you're getting a smaller raise than you're actually worth.

Aside from the above, don't count on any formal education you've attained assisting you in gaining a better position in the company or getting any respect from supervisors. They'll treat you as if you were the stupidest high school drop-out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There's no advice to the Telerx management that I could give, that they would bother to listen to.
They need to change their entire approach to the business, stop the high-pressure on employees, and unreasonable expectations, especially for those that are making $10 an hour.

I have been working at Telerx full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Working off site supporting Merck improved my experience with the company since I had little interaction with my Telerx leadership. Supporting a Merck client and working with mostly Merck colleagues limits the micromanaging and corporate politics.

    Cons

Promotions from within are scarce and often unwarranted. Co-employment policies are unclear yet abnormally strict. Managers on sight often do not support the same team so are not aware of day to day responsibilities and project objectives, so coaching, feedback, recognition and fair compensation is difficult to achieve.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to support their associates through their career path. Don't promote from within just because someone is in the right place at the right time; rather post the opportunities with appropriate timing and coach associates and choose the best candidate for the job.
