    Pros

Smart, motivated people who want to do the best for the business (very few "characters" who do not fit in or get in the way of progress). Telx has a lot of events that take place throughout the year (happy hours, summer outings, community gives back events, a holiday event, and their own events they participate in). We have a lot of opportunities to unwind and have fun. The company is relatively small and has a fast paced attitude; you can get a lot done without too much red tape.

    Cons

It can be hard to fit in at first, and the work life balance is tough to manage at times. The atmosphere can get political.

    Advice to Management

Continue solidifying the Exec team synergies and reduce political behaviors.

there are no real cons for working at this company. I think it is a great stepping stone to a variety of potential careers.

    Pros

The atmosphere was democratic and welcoming. If you are interested in a good balance of innovation and a firm that ( at least when I worked for it) has a good volume of orders from Fortune 500 companies.

    Cons

If you have rigid expectations of doing exactly the work you were trained in, based on your degree, it may not be for you.

    Advice to Management

Maintain multiple roads in for new and returning employees.

    Pros

Telx was generous with perks and incentives. Lots of fun! They hosted many outings, and affairs. Pizza parties every Fridays.

    Cons

At Telx cronyism and nepotism was out of control to the point that it created a diseased environment. Hard working employees passed over and slighted while friends and family reaped unfair rewards and benefits. Senior management turned a blind eye.

    Advice to Management

If the company is to be as great, as it should be it must level the playing field. Everyone should be equal.

    Pros

This is an up and coming company in Telecommunications and its a great company to growth with. They seem to be hiring the "right" people from their competitors, given time and restructuring it can become a viable competitor in the Telecom industry

    Cons

Intellectual input to improve current processes can be disregarded. There is too much of an internal hold on information possibly due to fear of change as the company is experiencing a great deal of dynamic change. More trust needs to be given to the professionals that are being hired to do the job per industry standards. Unwelcome atmosphere if you are not considered part of "their team". Professionals who have tenure and are recognized in the industry are not seen as equals.

    Advice to Management

Telx is hiring the right people. Allow them to provide you with their experiences in the industry to improve the company standing overall. Perhaps a good Management house cleaning is in order to keep everyone focused on the entire team and not internal relationships. Professional development should be fostered and encouraged, this only improves the quality of employee you already employ. Increased internal communications is in order regarding strategic position of the company and current goal deliverables. It should also include current advancement opportunities open to internal candidates to improve internal advancement morale, i.e. becoming aware of a new hire and no one understood hiring was actively being pursued. Training for senior management should be ongoing, the workforce employed at Telx is becoming very diverse, Managers should understand the diversity and current management methods to assist in improved management of the teams they are responsible for to improve the culture of the company. Senior Managers need to be held more accountable for the productivity of their teams and not seek to deflect questionable performance issues. In the end, there is no such thing as a bad employee, only bad leaders. Institute more leadership training.

    Pros

Salary and compensation. The colo data center environment is a great place to be.

    Cons

Old and tired micro management leadership with a peddler mentality. Working at Telx is a nightmare. The top performers are getting their numbers and success through attrition and their assigned account base. Over 80%+ of "new" sales are with existing customers and logos. New reps are left to fend for themselves with little support and many never get accounts and are pushed out of the business with 3-5 months. Deals are split between reps just because a rep has an account in their name in SF and this creates a great deal of favoritism and exclusion.

    Advice to Management

Clean house! The leadership might have been the right leadership to get the company rolling, but it is not the leadership needed to take the company and it's people to the next level. Help new reps by giving them accounts they can build from while also hunting down new logos.
