    Cons

Sometimes some of the workers don't work as hard as they could.

    Pros

As for a full time student the pay is Ok. University allows you to open your mind. Working for Temple gives you an opportunity to network with many students and professors.

Although there are many police officers around, the location of the university is not the safest one in the Philadelphia area. Every week you will receive an "alert message" that a robbery occurred neat the Temple.

I have been working at Temple University full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

A well paying job for education. Encourages a good work/life balance. Good benefits; with ample vacation time and top-notch healthcare.

    Cons

Limited upward mobility for technical staff. There is a culture of micromanagement and heavy bureaucracy. Changes and new projects are often dictated from above, frequently without properly consulting the staff which will implement and support these projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow staff to work from home. Don't micromanage your salaried employees. Provide a way to advance for your technical staff.
