    I love this company

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Houston, TX

ProsIf you are commited with the company and understand the comporate aspect of this big company, you can grow and will be recognized for it

ConsTo make each region more strong, starts a process to hire local people for high position, the transition is not working well with IT area a least since who was hire does not understand or don't want to understand how company works.

Advice to Senior ManagementAfter many years working in Tenaris, It is the first time that i start to consider to leave this company.
My advise is that the same exercice applied with expat's about cultural differences, must be applied with local hire for managerial and director position, the lack of knowledge about the company culture may "destroy" the confidence of very good professionals on Tenaris. Not because the company by itself but because bad selection process and / or a follow up to make sure if new hire is not trying to change the Tenari's way

Over-worked employees in extremely flat organization allowing for little growth opportunity!

    Market Intelligence Analyst (Current Employee)
    Houston, TX

    ProsGlobal leader
    Superior products
Clients have favorable opinion of Tenaris
New investments being made to upgrade mills in the US

ConsDepartments are extremely flat and lean
Work very long hours due to lack of support and under-staffed teams
Many promtions are given to ex-pats from Argentina, Mexico or Italy
    Lots of turnover
Most leaders in the US are ex-pats who come across arrogant, entitled and treat employees with very little respect

Advice to Senior ManagementTenaris has been given more than enough time in the United States to take actions employees have shared with you year after year in the employee survey opinion. Problems remain in lack of work-life balance, advancement opportunity, very few females in leadership roles, little transparency and too many ex-pats who don't understand or respect American cultures.

Tenaris is a great company for young professionals to pursue opportunities.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Houston, TX

ProsThe pay is great and medical benefits are fantastic. If you are looking for a company to start low and quickly move up, Tenaris is good for that.

ConsExpatriates do not know how to manage American employees. Work hours are long and employees are expected to give up every aspect of their personal life for the needs of the business.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive the employees more opportunities for their personal lives. Not every small aspect in the business is an emergency and does not warrant the employees waking up in the midnight hours to respond to the business.

Large global company offering amazing training and a long term career path!

    Global Trainee (Current Employee)
    Houston, TX

ProsGlobal Presence, rotational program for Global Trainees so you are exposed to different departments, huge emphasis on training (4 weeks in Argentina for TUIC), 70% of manager & directors started with Tenaris out of college

ConsNeed to be open to a multi-cultural environment; need to be willing to do what it takes to get the job done.

Advice to Senior ManagementAssimilate more. Being more open to other cultures and leadership outside of Argentina. Overall, have acclimated well to the US.

If you are not from Argentina good luck being treated with respect by management

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Houston, TX

ProsTenaris provides a very challenging and demanding place to work. There are some amazing people within the company. The benefits package was rock solid as was being able to take time off for emergencies. They take care of people even during economic downturns.

ConsNo respect from senior management unless you are from Argentina. The salaries are about 20-30% lower than the norm. Excessive work hours. Poor senior management. Employee surveys results are ignored and ridiculed.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease make an effort to adapt to the local culture and way of doing business... just a little bit would go a long way. Treat your employees fairly and equally no matter where they are from. Get rid of Tenaris University, it is a waste of time and money.

Good learning experience for some years.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Houston, TX

    ProsGood benefits
Good bonuses (indivudual performance bonus starts at 9% of annual base salary and company performance bonus starts at 10%)
    Good exposure to multicultural environment
Best technology and good resources to help you make your job
Fast-paced but organized and results-driven environment
Lots of learning and training opportunities

ConsYou must work long hours and even during weekends. No work-life balance approach.
No recognition from management when going the extra mile.
Most managers have bad leadership skils and no interest in training and coaching direct reports.
Relationships manager-report are too uneven, no respect for direct reports' ideas an opinions. Direct reports should only follow orders, no possibility of bringing your own ideas.

Unless your from Argentina, Venezuela, or Mexico - Look elsewhere

    Project Engineer (Current Employee)

    ProsPay is fair.
    TenarisUniversity is a world-class concept.

ConsIt is a highly discriminatory work environment. If you are not from a Latin American company, you are treated as a second-class citizen and have no voice, nor opinion.
