    Pros

I would say that the best part of working at Tenaris is the strong team feeling and training we receive

    Cons

The salery is a little lite compaired to the industry however Tenaris does invest heavy in employee training so these cost seem to be factored in

An ideal start for college graduates but would not be interested for the long term experience.

    I worked at Tenaris

    Pros

At the beginning of the merger of Tenaris with Hydril and Maverick, the bonus were very generous but now are only standard for a manufacturing company.

    Cons

Because the company finds every aspect of the company to save money, all employees are expected to complete all accounting expense related to projects. Additionally, they have all their accounting approvals go through oversees before it is released to companies located in the states.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Although they take their employees to a Management Camp for two weeks, the choice of employees taken still require more experience with projects and working at the facilities in order to understand how to manage people and projects.

Over-worked employees in extremely flat organization allowing for little growth opportunity!

I have been working at Tenaris

    Pros

    Global leader
    Superior products
Clients have favorable opinion of Tenaris
New investments being made to upgrade mills in the US

    Cons

Departments are extremely flat and lean
Work very long hours due to lack of support and under-staffed teams
Many promtions are given to ex-pats from Argentina, Mexico or Italy
    Lots of turnover
Most leaders in the US are ex-pats who come across arrogant, entitled and treat employees with very little respect

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Tenaris has been given more than enough time in the United States to take actions employees have shared with you year after year in the employee survey opinion. Problems remain in lack of work-life balance, advancement opportunity, very few females in leadership roles, little transparency and too many ex-pats who don't understand or respect American cultures.

I have been working at Tenaris

    Pros

If you are commited with the company and understand the comporate aspect of this big company, you can grow and will be recognized for it

    Cons

To make each region more strong, starts a process to hire local people for high position, the transition is not working well with IT area a least since who was hire does not understand or don't want to understand how company works.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

After many years working in Tenaris, It is the first time that i start to consider to leave this company.
My advise is that the same exercice applied with expat's about cultural differences, must be applied with local hire for managerial and director position, the lack of knowledge about the company culture may "destroy" the confidence of very good professionals on Tenaris. Not because the company by itself but because bad selection process and / or a follow up to make sure if new hire is not trying to change the Tenari's way

I have been working at Tenaris

    Pros

The pay is great and medical benefits are fantastic. If you are looking for a company to start low and quickly move up, Tenaris is good for that.

    Cons

Expatriates do not know how to manage American employees. Work hours are long and employees are expected to give up every aspect of their personal life for the needs of the business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give the employees more opportunities for their personal lives. Not every small aspect in the business is an emergency and does not warrant the employees waking up in the midnight hours to respond to the business.

I have been working at Tenaris

    Pros

Global Presence, rotational program for Global Trainees so you are exposed to different departments, huge emphasis on training (4 weeks in Argentina for TUIC), 70% of manager & directors started with Tenaris out of college

    Cons

Need to be open to a multi-cultural environment; need to be willing to do what it takes to get the job done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Assimilate more. Being more open to other cultures and leadership outside of Argentina. Overall, have acclimated well to the US.

    I worked at Tenaris

    Pros

Tenaris provides a very challenging and demanding place to work. There are some amazing people within the company. The benefits package was rock solid as was being able to take time off for emergencies. They take care of people even during economic downturns.

    Cons

No respect from senior management unless you are from Argentina. The salaries are about 20-30% lower than the norm. Excessive work hours. Poor senior management. Employee surveys results are ignored and ridiculed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please make an effort to adapt to the local culture and way of doing business... just a little bit would go a long way. Treat your employees fairly and equally no matter where they are from. Get rid of Tenaris University, it is a waste of time and money.
