I have been working at Tenet Healthcare full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

They have a generous benefits package

    Cons

Upper management does not include practice level management in decision making or respect their expertise. They do not listen to what employees have to say, and if you do voice your opinion expect your job title to be changed and your position eliminated. In the Sanford,NC market owning Physician practices is new and the people in place trying to run the practices do not have a clue what they have gotten themselves into or how to run a practice.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the people in the practices - they have some good advice and experience. Let the managers actually manage and not be puppets to the upper management.

    Pros

Fiscally sound practice model with organized corporate services.

    Cons

Facility level management is sometimes short sighted in the goals and sustainability. The bigger picture is sometimes over looked for short term gains.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Confidential satisfaction surveys should be done periodically from the corporate level of middle management.

I have been working at Tenet Healthcare full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

They do employ some excellent physicians, my experience is positive because I was lucky enough to be placed with a fantastic physician.

    Cons

Lots of politics and a lot of the practice administrators are either in over their heads with too many offices to manage, or completely incompetent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Know all of the roles that your staff is responsible for doing, I shouldn't have to train you on the basics of the position.
