I have been working at Tennant

    Pros

Tennant is a place that is comfortable. The work environment is laid back and friendly. The culture is that of a family environment and the work/life balance is prevalent.

    Cons

There is not a great deal of opportunity for growth within the company. Expanding the intellectual diversity of their human capital is not a priority. The medical benefits are expensive in comparison to companies for which I've been previously employed and the facilities are dated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pursue programs that foster an environment of growth for employees, ensuring it is not frowned upon to expand into different areas within the company.

    Pros

Enjoyed my time there. I had a better opportunity that came my way. Everyone that I came in contact with at the organization was top notch.

    Cons

I don't have anything negative to say about the company. It was a good place to work that was rewarding and had a positive vibe to it. Management was excellent and really cared about their employees. You were not a number on a sheet.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

N/AI do not have anything to add as for direction. The company is very strategic in nature and the top dog in the industry because of it.

I have been working at Tennant full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

40 hour week with benefits. Close within metro city area almost very clean building.

    Cons

You will be paid 2/3 less than the guys you work with, get to do all the new jobs that are hard and heavy while seniority sits down all day. I had seen new products come through with no help from guys thats been there for decades who can't program a part into the machine's while being oved paid. Management choose to favor people especially if you have relatives or friends working there and they tend to advance your career faster if you are related to management. I was hired in the fabrication department with no training, a pay that is 2/3 less than that of the pervious hires while doing jobs that are heavier and harder that them. However guys that are hired after me are paid more while I train them. Word is company is not fair fo its hard workers, should of been one of Forbes most not trusted companies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look into how you treat your employees. Equal pay for equal work and equal opportunity to further career not based on sex, ethnicity, religion, or relationsip. Start practicing what you preach Tennant, "Leave it better than we found it...."

I worked at Tennant full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Freedom of work hours as a service tech.

    Cons

Push, Push, Push for billing. Got to make them projective numbers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I was with tennant for 4 years and most of them were good as for the environment , i rarely saw or heard from my supervisor , unless there was a issue.. But the one bad thing about tennant i can say is the push for plan. Were i felt i was just a number in the pot to get my managers on a trip... my first 3yrs i busted all expiations beating my plan and traveling left and right to help out other areas. But when it came to eval time i would just be a average employee getting no or very little raise. I feel like tennant could be a great place to work, But with the current metrics i just dont see that happening. For this company to gain the market completely trying to over charge a customer trying to make there numbers / plan. and for the amount of time we worked,"away from our families" i would not recommend this company to anyone.
