I have been working at Tenzing Managed IT Services full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Very clear mission and focus, flexible work arrangements, lots of autonomy to get the job you need to do...done. Love the management team and the leadership...you get to know just about everyone in the company. Growing company with lots of opportunity for career development. Company is very in touch with their customers...in a proactive manner.

    Cons

Challenges can be workload at times...but if you speak up, you are usually heard and worked with. Tenzing is undergoing a transformation as they move into the US and further markets...and with change comes challenge for some...but also opportunity.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep enabling your managers, make sure they know they are valued (if the are)!

  2. This is a company that you should stay away and do not risk your future professional life if you already are employed.

I worked at Tenzing Managed IT Services full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

By having your marketing team leaving shiny feedback in here you can't hide the reality about this company.
I truly can't think of any positive feedback as this was the most irregular and unprofessional operations that I have ever seen in my life.

    Cons

Incompetent management, lack of vision and strategic plan which changes frequently, not recognizing staff's values, dedications, good intentions and hard works. Compensation is unfair and the bonuses have never been paid as promised. Staff high turnovers and the executives' strategy is to keep a staff member for max 1-2 years. Over all, the moral in this company is really low and if you are not a junior in your field, you should think it over before joining this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If the CEO and owner of a company is not motivated on his own, how do you want to motivate others. If I were you, I would analyze why all of the managers, senior managers and executives who had voices and professional opinions left the company in less than a year. You will not succeed as long as you are not loyal to your staff who are considered to be the biggest and only assets of a service providing business model.

I worked at Tenzing Managed IT Services full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

4 days work and 4 days off , very less companies give this facility in india
Fascinating technologies , there is too many things to learn especially for system administrators
Management gives much respect to the employees and job is secure

    Cons

No onsite visits, as they use too many tools , its difficult for guys who are habituated to automate the things

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open few more branches in offshore as you get the good resource here

I have been working at Tenzing Managed IT Services full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Very liberal company. Looks at team building and tries to ensure staff is happy.
As a newer company there are many hiccups but management tries to keep current with communication. Much better now than when I started.

    Cons

Tend to have far too many secrets (which are not secret at all)
Tend to not listen to staff unless at a management position regarding suggestions for improvement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train more than one person per job in case someone leaves the company the change over is seemless. Too many are tasked with one off jobs and not procedures are documented so when a staff member leaves the company we struggle for weeks to get back on track.

I have been working at Tenzing Managed IT Services

    Pros

The people and culture at Tenzing are very strong and the senior management team wants people to see its employees succeed.

    Cons

Senior management flip flop on strategy so often its tough to align your efforts with the company and do meaningful work that will get your advancement in the company.

Great to see the insides of an optimal performing datacenter, downside is management lack direction.

I worked at Tenzing Managed IT Services

    Pros

    - great place to work and be respected if you are older
    - if you have a lot of datacenter experience - would be a great fit over other technology industries.
    - VERY good at calculating the metrics of deals (I would give this 80% of the weight for the Pros)

    Cons

    - high turnover, either people leaving due to dissatisfaction of not being "self-actualize" or layoffs.
    - expectations can change overnight in the direction the company takes - occasionally logic doesn't apply
    - too much control by the board, especially over senior management decision making
    - not a cutting edge technology company - the culture is slow to change compared with other technology companies - if you are use to quick adoptions, this is not the place
    - lack of social media focus

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - too much high turnover lowers employee morale - better to freeze hiring than add more people.
    - seems some people have too much influence over others in decision making
    - invest in your technical account management team - that would be the only place not to have a hiring freeze on and to avoid attrition by customers

I worked at Tenzing Managed IT Services

    Pros

Lot to learn from pieces you work on
Small company to get noticed fast
A lot of broken things, fix them, make yourself shine
Pretty easy going work schedule. You can work from home no problem
Able to take time off on your birthday and couple of personal days a year

    Cons

    Very poor and inexperienced management
    No clear career path
Nothing much going about next big thing
No energy, no culture, no activities, empty office most of the time
Teams have none or very limited interaction
    Employees work under capacity

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the management specially the middle management
Think about your employees and why they leave
Employees are your only asset. Find ways to keep and empower them
