I worked at Terri's Little Pumpkins part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

There are wonderful children enrolled at the centers.

    Cons

SO MANY: limited supplies, toys and books are old and in poor repair, meals are disgusting, poor curriculum that does not focus at all on children's interests or abilities, outdoor space is inadequate, children are often stuck inside all day with very little physical activity, majority of staff are barely qualified to work with children, teachers are paid horribly compared to the outrageously high tuition--therefore, there is a lot of turnover, children are shuffled around numerous times a day...sometimes in order to send staff home early and save some money! There is no consistency whatsoever as children are in and out of different classrooms "herded" around as the other post mentioned, upper management will do their best to keep families in the dark about how classrooms are run...they only care about their bottom line not about your children! If you are considering placing your child here, you have not done your research nor spent enough time observing!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your turnover is high for a reason. Employees are not happy nor are they paid appropriately. Upper management is either clueless or honestly don't give a crap as long as their $$$ keeps rolling in. So sad because the children in their care are who are truly suffering!

I have been working at Terri's Little Pumpkins full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great children. Close to home. Most of the other employees were great.

    Cons

This center under pays their staff. They also fail to pay the staff on time in some cases.

They will not pay you for any overtime unless they feel like. If you stay 20 min late to help or talk to a parent too bad!

The kids are kept in one room all day or moved around the center so the directors won't have to help teachers if they go over ratio.

They have bugs that you can see crawling in the lights. Not to mention the staff that leaves with bug bites on them. CHILDREN SLEEP ON BUG INFESTED FLOORS!

To top it off the barely have enough supplies to last a day. Forget getting new books regularly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care about your staff and maybe you wouldn't have all bad reviews. Keep the place clean. Provide what the staff needs to teach the children. Pay the staff what they deserve.

I worked at Terri's Little Pumpkins full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The children and most of the families were amazing. I was able to make connections with a couple of amazing co-workers. Good stepping stone if you wish to gain experience.

    Cons

It's pretty evident that this company is all about profits. Cut corners, developmentally inappropriate curriculum, over enrolled classrooms, doesn't follow state lisencing regulations, lack of supplies, hired people that didn't care about their work, high turn over, under paid, under appreciated and the benefits weren't great.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please hire competent employees. The children deserve better. Stop cutting corners. Parents would be happy to pay for a quality environment. Do some research on curriculum planning. Please stop combining classrooms and herding children around from room to room all day. Remember that happy teachers make happy children, happy children make happy parents, happy parents make happy owners..
