    Pros

Good work life balance, action orientated business that gets results. Business with lots of opportunities in the commercial world and good variety.

    Cons

Head office is ugly and not a good environment, lack of strategy can be frustrating, very hierarchical, chaotic, strong 'Tesco' type, not very forward thinking or innovative with staff, organisationally quite backwards and poor line management structure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be more innovative for staff.

    Horrible place to work

Former Employee - Analyst in Cheshunt, England (UK)
Former Employee - Analyst in Cheshunt, England (UK)

I worked at Tesco full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

If you got promoted, the salaries went up dramatically

    Cons

Long hours were expected, no flexibility, they thought you should consider it a privilege to be able to stay late and work for them. However, if you were in 5 minutes past 9am, that would be a cause for concern.

Management were frequently bullies, and it was considered acceptable for them to shout abuse at employees on a regular basis.

People were promoted based on saying the right things to the right people, rather than based on actual merit.
