London, England (UK)

Former Employee – worked at Tescom

ProsCan't find even a single reason.
The only reason I worked there was I was getting paid and that too - at half the market rate.

And in order to survive it better to have something rather than nothing.

Cons- You will be treated like dogs.
- No training provided.
- No help or information provided.
- They can terminate you at any point without giving any notice and reason (Look into your contract).

Advice to Senior ManagementBetter change your attitude.

Former Employee – worked at Tescom

ProsThere are some great people working in Tescom (some have moved on) from which you can learn a lot of things. As it is a consultancy it offers you the opportunity to work in multiple client sides and multiple industries. If you were to work on a management level you will also have the opportunity to meet annually your counterparts from the various countries that Tescom has offices in. This exchange of experiences is invaluable. The client base consisted of some big names and provides every consultant with a worth while experience. The salaries are descent if you have the experience.

ConsSenior management should look more into long term investment. The only investment they are looking at is the one with an immediate return. When you are working on-site with clients you are generally "out-of-sight-and-out-of-mind". There has been no carreer progression and there is certainly no knowledge retainment (eventhough some of the tools are available for that). There is no communication and what there is drips with corporate correctness gone mad, which then turns into mis-communication. The Top management seems to meddle (not steer) the local management to such a degree that it feels more like an interference than a help. There are a lot of ad-hoc managment decisions that make the company look like it does not have a direction.

Advice to Senior ManagementThink about strategic direction and investment
Look after your greatest assets (your consultants) and not think "oh we pay them their salary, that should be enough".
Improve local communication and get it free from corporate interference.
