    Lots of opportunity

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThere are lots of opportunities working for such a large company; it just takes initiative to seek and go after those opportunities.

ConsIn a company with more than 14,000 employees, it is easy to get lost in the sea of names executives deal with every day. Sometimes management focuses more on numbers instead of on who is making a difference in the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementMy advice is to thoroughly think through changes and gain input from employees "down in the trenches" before implementing said changes.

The EPCM group was very young, unstructured, and struggling to get work into the office.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Golden, CO

ProsGood people, strong camaraderie, good office work environment, good equipment, fair management.

ConsOffice administrative head overbearing/over-reaching in her power, work backlog thin, asked to take vacation when workload got light to save them from overhead costs, and top management, like most other large engineering consulting firms, are only looking at the next quarter, the stock price they can create, and the easiest way to boost their annual bonus.

Advice to Senior ManagementCare more about the employees that bring you the money rather than use, abuse, give lip service, and dispose.

Meets expectations and is a solid technical firm. Opportunity has moved slowly.

Environmental Engineer (Current Employee) Pittsburgh, PA

ProsTechnical prowess, good people, nice people, fair, willing to teach, embrace those pursuing BD opportunities

Consthe usual….it's a fair company; the benefits are average, the incentives are nearly average, more interaction with those higher than your direct director would be nice, etc.

Advice to Senior ManagementValue your top employees and don't treat them like average employees

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Good for either your first real job or a late career destination, not for mid-career professionals

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsDiversity of work available, with plenty of opportunities for travel.

ConsCost / Profit Center Based Staffing and Management focused on Corporate initiatives, if your work group is outside of the operating units core initiative focus, you may consider yourself an afterthought.

    Overall, a good company

Project Manager II - Geotechnical Structural Engineer (Current Employee) Fort Collins, CO

ProsMost of the offices are small and provide a "small company" feel. I believe the company wants to be the best at what they do and they are implimenting changes to achieve their goals.

ConsThe primary growth was through acquisition and therefore there is a lack of cohesiveness and consistent deliverables across the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf staff retention is important, you need to involve staff in some decisions, especally ones that affect them directly. Restructure the company such that it would be more economical to utilize company skills. Make movement within the company, ie changing to another Tt entity, easier.

Once Great Company Quickly Going Downhill

    Environmental Project Manager (Current Employee)

ProsYou get to work with some of the best scientists & engineers in the business.

ConsExtremely long work hours when you have a project. You have to find your own projects on your own time and you receive no management support. You will be laid off instantly if you are not charging your time to a project. No recognition for a job well done.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop treating people like commodities. Invest in your staff and reward results. Hire someone who knows how to market your services, and don't be afraid to go after new markets.

Great If You're Doing Environmental Work

Project Engineer (Former Employee) Lakewood, CO

ProsThere were decent promotions and every once in a while, there would be fun events. Discounts provided by the company and environment could've been worse.

ConsThe whole package left a lot to be desired, especially in terms of compensation. Some people were promoted fast, some were not. Tolerance and training were not the order of the day.

Advice to Senior ManagementSpend some more time working within to promote, less cloak & dagger

    Project Management

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsNice setting, nice colleagues, some staff are team players

ConsPoor management, poor leadership, unprofessional, lack of insight, personality driven

    Overall a good experience.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsEach individual office is run and managed differently, so there's a lot of variability between offices. My office is very communal, and my boss provided a lot of room for opportunity and growth to all employees.

ConsUpper management is all about the bottom line and don't seem to care much about the employees.
