    Good place to work, overall

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Kansas City, MO

ProsDifferent divisions of the company are managed differently. In my division - strong focus on technical excellence, customer satisfaction, and employee empowerment. Interesting diversity of work assignments.

ConsCompany had gotten pretty big by the time I left, and felt more and more corporate & hierarchical - traits that were not there when I joined the company when it was much smaller. Heavy emphasis on billability, lots of administrative and business development activities expected on the side, while still doing billable client work during the normal workday.

As BAS grew & was bought by parent Tetra Tech, management became nepotistic.

    Employee (Former Employee)
    Diamond Bar, CA

Prosfirst years learned quite a lot, pay was commensurate with performance (merit).

ConsNepotism runs wild as managers feel they'll be replaced by new owner (Tetra Tech), this caused the loss of various contracts since client hears about this miss-management, many good-hard working techs were laid off to replace them with "friends/family" , other mid level project managers were not included in the transfer agreement.

Advice to Senior Managementget some feed back from lower level employees (promote the "do-whats-right" tip line) as they can pinpoint better the reason why contracts were lost, make sure these employees are not part of the favoritism

Great company, flexible, with opportunities to grow if you are motivated

    Operations Manager (Former Employee)
    Louisville, KY

ProsSmart people, worldwide network of professionals and opportunities. I worked around the world on a multitude of projects.

ConsBig company now, so everything of course boils down to the bottom line, which in the consulting business is utilization. There is always pressure.
