    Pros

Can be a fun job if you enjoy working outside. Good job to get some work experience in as a entry level job.

    Cons

Bosses can be sometimes very difficult and are not very understanding or in tune with the rest of the employees.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to the needs of your employees and try to understand their needs and views as an employees in their position.

    Pros

Excellent training opportunities and majority of the staff in the Regional Office are great to work with and make the days go by a little quicker when stuck in the office. Lots of time off!

    Cons

The pay is pathetic for anyone with a college degree. Management has their favorite employees and the treatment they get is clearly noticeable.

    Advice to Management

People need to be treated the same and fairly. Favoritism is obvious and people who are qualified are routinely overlooked for promotions, training opportunities, etc.

    Pros

Strictly 8-5, little if any overtime required. Rank and file employees generally quite nice.

    Cons

Management from the top down has an anti-science, anti-environmental attitude. Very power hungry, not much integrity, not much personality. In the short time I was there I saw multiple incidents of people being deliberately humiliated.

    Advice to Management

Take protecting the environment seriously and treat your employees like human beings. Don't think you can buy people off with a chili cook-off, it doesn't compensate for a lack of respect.

    Pros

Good place to learn and grow; Management and peers are very helpful/supportave. Free helath insurance. Flexible work schedule and VERY good work/life balance. Steady work flow.

    Cons

Once you "top out" in your position, you won't get any substantial raises.
Directives can change with new Management

    Advice to Management

Keep your employees informed of upcoming changes/ implementations of new requirements

    Pros

There is opportunity to move within the media sections. There is opportunity to move up, if you want to. There is a good opportunity to learn the rules and regulations. Stress free.

    Cons

The pay is very low. Coworkers complain of being overworked when there actually is not enough work to keep you busy. A lot of employees are complacent. The upper regional management is disconnected and has no idea how to manage this region. There is a high turn over in all areas. The office space is not big enough, there is not enough parking for all the employees in the building, and it is in a high crime area.

    Advice to Management

With the high turn over and letting go of so many employees, maybe the problem isn't with them.....

    Pros

Great benefits, very routine job duties, low stress levels, understanding management if you need time off related to personal reasons, you don't have to bring work home with you.

    Cons

Low pay, although you know this going in. Employees seem to get comfortable and never aspire to move up (or out).
