    Pros

Made great friends and made great money. Easiest serving job I have ever had.

    Cons

General manager is the worst human I've met in my life. Long hours are needed. Getting a day off or a weekend off is unheard of. Vacation requests barely ever get approved. They motivate you by being condescending. Very condescending and attack your intelligence when possible.

    Advice to Management

Secretly watch your managers, I wasn't the only person who had such an experience.

    Pros

Wonderful supportive management, flexible scheduling, almost always busy, work as one big family. We are busier than most chain restaurants, but we still get to have fun. There's always contests, prizes, outings, so we get a lot of chances to bond with each other

    Cons

limited opportunities to move up within the company, less than desirable clientele

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing.

    Pros

    - Great restaurant experience, every job I have applied to after leaving have been interested in my working at Texas Roadhouse. I've been offered jobs because I worked here, restaurants know they get a lot of traffic, SO they understand that I can handle heavy business.
    - TIP SHARE : Tips go to hosts, busboys, kitchen staff and servers
    - Workers have been there for a long time, friendly atmosphere
    - Great Customers

    Cons

    - I feel like we got paid too little for everything we had to do. As a host I ran food, cleaned the bathroom, cleaned the waitroom, sat tables, answered phones, etc. for $8 an hour. But I guess the tips are there to even it out and that's fine.
    - My scheduling was bad, depended on how fast the restaurant was going.
    - Many opportunities for advancement, I just wasn't interested in becoming a waitress.

    Advice to Management

    - Set schedules.
    - Less favoritism
    - Asking for days off, I didn't like how we had to know the month before what days we wanted off.

Managers are there for you professionally and personally and genuinely care about your career goals and will help you to succeed any way they can and by understanding the chaos in your personal life.

I have no cons to the Roadhouse environment. I gained lifetime friendships with the team I had the pleasure of working with.

I have been working at Texas Roadhouse part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The 2 Roadhouses that I have worked at were both high energy and high volume. Unfortunately due to a turn over in management recently it has been a little hectic but the tips pay the bills.

    Cons

Clientele can be rough. It's more quantity of tips rather than quality of tips. The faster you turn and burn the better for your wallet.
