I worked at Texas Roadhouse full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

It was a fast passed environment, where I got to meet all different types of people on a daily basis.

    Cons

They pay wasn't high enough for the position that I was in. They had me do a lot of work and fix their mistakes, but would never promote me to a manager.

  5. I have been working at Texas Roadhouse

    Pros

You make excellent money here. Everyone always has fun working. On the weekend we play games such as bingo and we can win prizes.

    Cons

You don't ever see a penny from your paycheck because it all goes to taxes. You never know what time you're going to get off of work. You get cut as it slow down. If you're a server you don't get offered breaks.

    I worked at Texas Roadhouse

    Pros

Constant Country Music, country line dancing,

    Cons

Unprofessional Managers, underage parties, abrasive boisterous staff, inappropriate teen scene

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

talk about what is appropriate to talk about at work and sensitivity of work topics as well as offering a help line because it is such a young work scene the teens and young adults could use a help line for addiction and sexual assault help.

I have been working at Texas Roadhouse full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Team focused, results oriented business with tons of room for growth. I've advanced quickly to service manager and love my job

    Cons

If you have a family and significant other with a 9-5er your time off with them will be limited to about 1 day a week and that gets old real quick

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The service manager role has the highest turnover in the industry and nothing (as far as I know) has been done about it. Why must a service manager close EVERY NIGHT. I understand its part of the gig but having a key trying to earn their strips close 1 maybe 2 nights a week will not hurt operations.

I worked at Texas Roadhouse full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The pros is that the managers are super flexible with your time and they also understand how busy your life is.

    Cons

The cons is that they do not pay enough for all of the work that you do to prove yourself to them. They also make you complete miniature exams to fill the spot that you desire. While you are trying to learn it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just try to pay your employees more. It is not right to expect a lot of training when the pay is not so hot.

I have been working at Texas Roadhouse part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

It's really a fun place to work. You get to meet lots of people and you make really close friends. Very easy to move up. Scheduling is very flexible great for students. Weekdays the stores open at 4. During summer this was great.

    Cons

    The pay isn't very amazing.

I have been working at Texas Roadhouse

    Pros

They have a flexible schedule, but make you feel bad about giving away shifts. It's an extremely busy restaurant. No late night shifts (Usually out before 11 pm, 12 am AT THE LATEST) Great trade-outs from local businesses and great prizes for non-mediocre employees.

    Cons

Inconsistencies (understatement). Stressed out management. You often get the feeling you're not appreciated. Unrealistic gift card sales (the most stressful and mind-raping time to work for the company). A young staff who doesn't care. A management staff that plays in fields of fraternization...constantly. The constant feeling that you're going to get fired for not "selling enough of what they need sold for the quarter". Intense training program that shoves too much down your throat. The most ridiculous tip-out I have ever experienced (I pay more in tip out than my monthly bills). Overall, just a standing ovation to mediocrity. Worst serving job I've ever had.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Move on, find something better! Stop being brainwashed by this company!
