I have been working at Thales full-time

    Pros

Very dynamic engineering, with emphasis on innovation and systemic project management.

    Cons

Not much on these, maybe the same dynamic aspect can drive sometime to un-managed change.

I worked at Thales as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

The company allowed me to achieve growth and a better willingness to learn! I was able to advance from working within groups.

    Cons

It was under a 2 year (only) temporary contract. It gave little growth for promotion within the company. I would have loved to get hired in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep giving young adults the opportunity to work for a great company. Maybe more promotional moves will be highly appreciated!

I worked at Thales full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Interesting/sophisticated work; empowered to make important decisions; international travel (Paris); good work/life balance; market compensation; pleasant colleagues (some awesome, none awful); good immediate boss.

    Cons

Currently a transitional environment because of organizational changes at Group and US HQs (impacts morale and job security); ocasional cultural gaps between French and US management (never a problem for me).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Weather the economic storm and increase focus on morale; improve internal communication.

I have been working at Thales

    Pros

Great benefits, never boring, bosses let you do your job with a large degree of independence.

    Cons

Upper management sometimes out of touch, reluctant to settle conflicts, conflicts created by conflicting goals. Examples, build something quickly, but spend no time or money on it, but get it delivered. Satisfy customers, but cut costs from current level by spending less time on customer satisfaction. Handle more business, but with fewer people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Tell everyone what the priority is, instead of making people wrong no matter what the result

    I worked at Thales

    Pros

    Great benefits.
    Good pay.
Relaxed atmosphere with a lot of funny people (lots of ex-military).

    Cons

Work can be slow with the decline of the airline industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep it up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Thales

    Pros

Good benefits, 4 weeks vacation, 401k. If you like travel, Thales gives you many opportunities to do so and it is great to take advantage of that.

    Cons

Difficult to accomplish anything. Lots of travel in my position as program manager which i don't like. Thales is political and run by the french.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to consider the employees more and find ways to retain them. Employees will start leaving when they reach the breaking point.

I have been working at Thales

    Pros

Innovative group of people that strive to provide the best product to customers, with a reliable system and the best support on the field.

    Cons

Schedules are not well thought out from the inception of the program were sales people not necessarily know what the system is capable of doing and if the technology is ready to support such requirement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take advantage of the resources available through out the corporation to develop a more solid system with fewer hiccups and delays

    I worked at Thales

    Pros

Great benefits. The 4 weeks of vacation actually include sick days. The benefits are good. Met and worked with many wonderful people. Product is good.

    Cons

People are worked to death. Management does not know how to structure itself and work towards a better environment. Finger pointing. Departments do not speak to each other. Management infighting. To be promoted you had better be in the same cultural vertical.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leadership at Thales would not take any comments into consideration. The atmosphere is very high school 'mentality' oriented. Management needs to place more respect on the efforts of all employees and not the few. The company is not progressing from efforts of management, but from efforts and hard work of the employees.
