I worked at The Art Institutes (HQ) part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

As a student worker I not only was able to earn a paycheck to help with my bills but I was able to learn from the classes I assisted in. I learned rom a different perspective than just being the student. I also had the opportunity to build a good rapport with my teachers, which has been good for me after I graduated.

    Cons

Logging my hours through Kronos was a major headache, but other than that my experience was a positive one.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage students from early on to seek work as a teachers aide. I wish I had known about it much sooner in my time as a student.

I worked at The Art Institutes (HQ) part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Being able to complete tasks independently. Micromanaging was absent with him, he would give out tasks every month and would let you be in control of your own deadlines. He understands the needs of the students and is very reasonable with sick time. He was a great manager.

    Cons

Tasks were sometimes out of pay grade. The pay was horrible. It could be pretty stressful at times with dealing with management higher then him. The senior managers do not hire enough employees to manage daily operations properly. So you will have much more work then your pay reflects. They take advantage of the student workers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Long term student workers should have the opportunity to go to a different department not based on just personal needs of the management but by needs of the daily operations. Higher management could keep control of his own staff so that would fall on lower management i.e Steven Parker. It would be stressful for not only him but all the employees as a whole.

    Pros

Great workplace with very creative students , joy for any instructor in creative career. Feels like team work . Forward thinking company.

    Cons

Very structured working hours and administration . Has a lot of prepping for the class while you are payed just for teaching hours .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Less administrational work and faster problem solving skills from management department that comes from excessive reporting to HQ and waiting for the feed back .
