    Pros

good discount (40%) although clothes are over priced :)

    Cons

horrible pay, the company clearly doesn't care about their employees. The base $4.50 is horrible in comparison to other companies which are also commission based, such as belk which nearly starts you out at a DOUBLE base pay of $8.25. Also you only make 3% of commission on sales where you make 5% at nearly every other commission based retailer.

The company is extremely unprofessional when it comes to picking favorites etc. It's almost very high school like. Even if you have TOP sales every single week, if you don't kiss butt or are a complete push over and overly social with all other employees then you are seen as not fitting the "mold" or even seen as having a bad attitude.

Also, its extremely inconsistent with management. You can have a new district manager who all of a sudden doesn't like or "approve" of an employee or even store manager and that's that. Weeks later they are out of a job. It's honestly just kind of a bs company to work for, it's completely obvious why the turnover rate is so bad.

No one, I mean NO ONE can survive off of this pay. This company is completely clueless and honestly will realize it once their out of business. With the amount of dissatisfied employees (literally 75%) which leads to high turnover rate including store managers who will get better offers, returns, more affordable and almost identical competition, and LP issues I give the company another 2-3 years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

quit picking favorites and consistently thinking of some "mold" every person has to fit. If an employee is good with other customers but may not be the most social with other employees aka going out for drinks after work etc., then maybe its because their trying to find another job with their degree and have their priorities in line. Not everyone is totally abt instagram and thinks every item in the entire store is cute, honest, down to earth employees who truly care about their customers should be valued and not discriminated against.

    Pros

Your commission is uncapped, if you wanted you could push to sell thousands of dollars worth of clothing on people, and sometimes you can succeed in it.

    Cons

The managers are very tough on you if you don't get good sales in, or reach your goals for the week. If you aren't aggressive enough or outgoing enough, it is hard to succeed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My training was great, but at some other stores the managers aren't as invested in their employees.

You get to work with a lot of amazing people, you learn from start to finish.there's always a leadership opportunities.fun environment great discount they also offer an internship program if you needing it for college or whatever you need it for.they're willing to teach you whatever you need to know to advance

    Cons

they have a base pay plus commission you have to work really hard to make sales this has to be something you're passionate about or you won't really make the cut . Hours are kind of hard to get sometimes..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

they have some really great leaders who are willing to help you achieve your goals you just have to be dedicated and what you want to do you have to show them that this is something you would want but other than that management is pretty great you get a higher pay

    Pros

Pays great, brings new challenges everyday, gives everyone an opportunity to express their ideas and use creativity, there is always room to climb the ladder, fun and competitive environment

    Cons

I wish there was a little more vacation time and that it didn't take three full worked months to kick in for full timers along with a three month wait for their benefits.

I have been working at The Buckle as an intern (more than a year)

    Pros

Great atmosphere, ability to promote, discount, benefits

    Cons

Extremely high pressure (sell, sell, sell). If you aren't motivated to push product and solicit credit cards, your hours will get cut. There are so many different "daily" duties that have to be done (all while selling your butt off) that it is easy to get overwhelmed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep encouraging, but relax on the pressure to sell (especially to guests that aren't looking to spend a fortune)
