I have been working at The Buckle part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Very flexible scheduling, very helpful management, wonderful employee discount. This is an awesome place if you want to climb the ladder and pursue a higher position.

    Cons

Work is not very challenging especially if you are just a sales associate. Turn over rate is very high, and the company is very focused on numbers and growth (which can be good and bad).

I worked at The Buckle part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Wasn't too hard to get the job, although I had to call back several times because it didn't seem too organized.

    Cons

Disorganized. The manager and staff were not helpful to new employees. A lot of gossiping. Employees did not like each other. A lot of talking behind each other back. Not a great place to work. At least the towson location. Manager wanted me to keep an eye on certain customers, If you know what I mean.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend more time training employees rather than pretending to. Don't talk bad about other employees behind their backs. Don't hire people based on looks.

    Pros

If you like sales, this is a great place to be. If you are not interested in almost all commission, look elsewhere.

    Cons

You are the pushiest people in the mall. You're taught to basically attack people when they walk in a store.

I have been working at The Buckle part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

40% off right off the bat, rock on. Everyone is super relaxed and friendly as well, and the manager I had wasn't nearly as bad as the other Buckles claim.

    Cons

Super high stress when more than 3 people walk in, it feels like. They'll persuade you that commission is the best way to go, and making it isn't that hard when the cheapest clothing goes for about 70 bucks. But base is kinda garbage and you have to constantly pester customers or invade their privacy in the fitting room it seems. I originally applied for Assistant Manager but only got Sales Associate with "training in leadership".

I worked at The Buckle part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Discount is nice, and I was told I would get double pay for working holidays.

    Cons

First of all, my interview was a mess. The manager kept having to walk away in the middle of me talking because there was a customer throwing a fit. I understood and I was patient, but I never had a manager interrupt our interview, it seemed a little unprofessional. Anyway, I was offered the job and went to training that following weekend. It was actually the worst training experience I've ever had. The managers were very rude and disrespectful. If we weren't walking or following her fast enough we were yelled at to 'hustle' and were mocked. Then, we were given jeans to try on and we were going to talk about their fit and brand. The manager gave me jeans two sizes too small for me. I was struggling to put them on without ripping them, and the manager banged on the dressing room door and yelled at me to 'hustle' because I was taking too long. Mind you I was probably in there for thirty seconds. A lot of other little things happened that I didn't appreciate, but those were the big things that stood out to me. I will not work somewhere that offers a low wage just to be treated so rudely.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You are not basketball coaches, you are managers. Do not tell me to hustle and insult me. Treat your employees like human beings.
