Great money if you are a server or bartender. If you are hourly, hours are cut!

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsLots of money for the amount of time worked if you are a bartender or server. If you are hourly, raises are very little or none at all.

ConsBenefits used to be great and so was management. Not so much anymore.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat employees like you would like you would like to be treated. Either employees are micro managed or not managed at all. It depends on if you are a favorite of the managers or not.

    Terrible management structure

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsDecent food. Access to cheap ingredients. Good dry aging program

ConsChefs are overworked. There is only 1 exec and 1 sous per kitchen. ABSOLUTELY do NOT believe them when they tell you it is a 55 hour work week!!! It is 65-75 on average with no consistency in your schedule. if you want any sort of work/life balance this is not the place for you

Advice to Senior ManagementStop treating your chefs like slave labor. Invest in more kitchen management so your chefs can have the quality of life you preach about at Darden U.

    Great company to work for.

    Manager (Current Employee) Miami, FL

ProsFor the most part, great atmosphere plus awesome food------ of course, the money isn't bad either! Plenty of room to advance within the company and great training.

ConsCan be a bit uptight at times! Understandable considering the high level, but still... I really is unnecessary to take it to such an extreme.

Advice to Senior ManagementRelax..... just a little.

Something good until I find a career

    Hostess (Current Employee) Hartford, CT

ProsPay, serves great food, legacy, networking, recognition of EDGE

ConsToo many rules, miscommunication, managers having different ways of doing things

Advice to Senior ManagementCommunicate on the small little details and every rule, be on the same page.

    Worst job I ever had!

Kitchen (Former Employee) Garden City, NY

ProsGreat people they staff! Beautiful decorations!

ConsTo stuffy and the training for the kitchen needs to be run by people with no personal feelings.

Advice to Senior ManagementI worked for a total of 2 days. The trainer I had did not like me from the beginning and Refused to train me or answer my questions. As a professional that came from management. You really need to learn to decipher between personal and professional feelings about someone. Before letting someone go. You need more management training!

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
