    Pros

Extremely flexible with my school schedule and took care of me at every step. Higher pay for hourly workers than industry average.

    Cons

Management needed to be stronger. Ended up having to work later hours when team members would pull a no show.

    Advice to Management

Be stronger as a team and be clear about what you all expect. Different managers expected things to be done differently and it was difficult to please them all.

The hours. All the usual cons of working in the food service industry

    Advice to Management

    Celebrate excellence more often.

I have been working at The Capital Grille

    Pros

Great development program, great money, many opportunities to grow within the orginization, and they keep you involved

    Cons

Working with people that do not have the equivalent experience as you. Making double the $$ the managers, often feeling made as if your doing something wrong with making so much money.

    Pros

The tips and compensation are good. I don't have anything else good to say about this company...

    Cons

No holiday pay, very murky and unclear expectation of what is expected of you but a very swift punishment if you screw up, 'Wine club members' are basically allowed to treat you like dirt and ask for ridiculous and inappropriate favours that you have comply with, too many managers walking around that blame you for their bad mood and one doesn't seem to know what the other one is doing leading to contradicting tasks.

    Advice to Management

Have you heard the adage 'Happy wife, happy life?' Well here is a good one to remember: 'Happy employees, happy customer!' You can still make the guests the top focus without hanging your workers out to dry. I don't know if this is company wide or just this location but write ups are passed out like candy for things that yesterday we were told to do... Maybe a better approach would be to clearly lay out the task at hand and save write ups for when the employee actually realizes that they screwed up.

    Pros

You get to taste everything on the menu during training, so you become familiar with the food. It's high cover average; you make a decent wage.

    Cons

The menu is dated and played-out. You work on double on Thanksgiving. You have to work lunches, regardless of how long you've been employed. You wear potato sacks and name tags. Need I say more?

    Advice to Management

The Managing Partner is only concerned with being a Regional.

    Pros

Good benefits. Well paid room to grow. Well placed steps of service .High standards rotation of menu with season. Obtainable bonus

    Cons

With being under such a huge umbrella company. There is a gap in core beliefs from corporate of the past and the present. Rushed placement of Ill trained staff and those who lead.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on the strength of the team instead of the single. Look for local impact points instead of across the board company placement of items and incentives

    Pros

good work/life balance for people in school or that have daytime commitments. High price point and consistent volume. Managers do their best to keep a good attitude and help accommodate scheduling conflicts.

    Cons

They don't take taxes out of your pay, no health benefits until you work there for a whole year, slim opportunity or incentive for advancements, not much respect between coworkers.
