    Pros

Satisfying work, interesting clientele, intelligent coworkers.

    Cons

Poor pay, primarily due to poor funding and planning.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't forget that employees are part of The Centers mission... we all play an important role.

I have been working at The Centers full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The customers. The people working in the trenches.

    Cons

Administration is rude, clueless and ego-driven.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand the value of the people who are in the trenches. Understand that your employees pay YOUR salary. Understand that most people will be more productive if given encouragement and acknowledged for their efforts. Understand that most people will not stay in an atmosphere where they are treated with disrespect.

I worked at The Centers full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, plenty of Paid Time Off, mission

    Cons

No real direction from management or directors, everyone seems to pass the buck to lower level staff and then fires them when they fail to do the job of the bosses. Constant changes in the way programs are run and very little respect or regard for staff not in administration. Senior level management has no clue how the programs inpatient and outpatient run nor do they seem to want to know.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take pride in your employees, let them know they are appreciated so they can pass that feeling on to the clients. Listen to them! Understand that what you are being told by your "directors" is not necessarily the truth. Remove your blinders and see what is really going on before the community loses a facility that could be a great asset and one that is much needed! and stop restructuring!

I worked at The Centers full-time

    Pros

Thankful for the opportunity. Enjoyed working with the clients. Centers paid for a portion of insurance coverage, if the employee could afford it. Many could not due to low wages.

    Cons

Never enough supplies, disorganized, very political. Compensation for some positions was seriously low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get your hands dirty and see what it is really like.

I worked at The Centers full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Progressive PTO leave policy. Great mission.

    Cons

Seemingly impossible measures imposed by the State for services Florida employees could not adewuately perform themselves with more funding than provided to nonprofits like The Centers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring back some of the seasoned leadership or bring in new experienced leaders who will treat employees fairly and ethically and also will also manage resources to fulfill contracts.

I worked at The Centers full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

My coworkers and supervisors were great to work with and very helpful. The pay for my position (Family Care Manager) was good, but for my normal field of Accounting, not so good.

    Cons

Even though we were paid hourly, with no overtime pay, we were expected to be available 24/7, because of our clients. Also, the amount of paperwork was overwhelming, to say the least!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to get more help for your employees, as not to lose the really good ones.

I worked at The Centers full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Because they help a wide variety of children and families, they make a big impact on the community at large.

    Cons

Due to the nature of their business and not much funding to work with, the employees are overworked for all they need to get accomplished and that causes much stress.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the time with your employees, as I'm sure many of you do, to help with the struggles, as my supervisor did.

I worked at The Centers full-time

    Pros

Co-workers are team players. Also in some instances you can work flexibility depends the position.

    Cons

Upper management treated employers with disrespect. This company made so much unethical procedures that put in jeopardy clinical competence and clinician's license. Also, you have to work like a slave to complied with documentation and even so is not enough time to balance between your personal life and work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Administration should look into each department and clean the house.
