    Amazing place to work

Management (Current Employee) Dobbs Ferry, NY

ProsGreat training opportunities. options to learn and grow within the agency, personal growth and development.

ConsMinimal raises for work in the last few years. Some programs are taken more seriously than others-ie residential versus community based.

Advice to Senior ManagementHard to say-try to be as eclectic as possible.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Director doesn't care

Daycare Teacher Assistant (Former Employee) Indianapolis, IN

ProsGreat experience with the children and other teachers. She is willing to work with you on your schedule, if you can ever find her or talk to her.

ConsThe director didn't care about any complaints that should have been taken care of. A former employee would get physical with the children and when anyone complained she wouldn't do anything about it. It finally took a parent threatening to sue, even then she didn't fire or meet with him one on one. She held a meeting and educated all of us on safety, BUT he wasn't there. Needless to say he was still physical with them but he got a better job offer away from children.

    Very unpleasant place to work.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Dobbs Ferry, NY

ProsFacility was clean and comfortable. Benefits were decent. Large convenient parking lot.

ConsEveryone was generally miserable. A most unhappy place. I once heard the Executive Director, when faced with a problem, respond "Who can we blame for this?"

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

The Company is not at all how they portray themselves to be.

    ConsThe Management is very inconsistent

Advice to Senior ManagementGet rid of some of your so called leaders.

Social Work positions at residential level are unrealistic and under valued for all the responsibilities required.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsYou work with great children and families. You will receive a lot of information about the child welfare system depending on what department you work in on the campus.

ConsUnrealistic workload with no support or proper supervision. Social work supervisors at the residential level run from crisis and are not held accountable for their turnover or bad attitudes when it comes to working with children and families. Social work practice is not taken seriously as a respected field of therapy. Social workers are utilized to do case management more than the therapy that is advertised on the website alongside case workers who carry cases with no clinical experience to save money.

Advice to Senior ManagementRevamp your entire administration team. There are people who have been there too long so they are incapable of being impartial which leads to a hostile work environment. Management is not held accountable for poor decision making and instead make the people who are doing the day-to-day work with children and families suffer.

    Overwhelming

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsClinical Supervision was very detailed and much time was devoted to it. Team support was also very encouraging and the families that participated in the community base programs were wonderful.

ConsThe paperwork load was at best horrible and at its worst unmanageable. There was a pretty high turnover rate which leads to very low workplace moral.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake staff suggestions to heart. It is important to listen to the staff that does the hard in the trenches work. Really listen to what they have to say and take action based on their recommendations.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
