I have been working at The Christian Post full-time for more than a year

    Pros

CP gave pretty generous commission for sales people. If you work hard, you will learn a lot. Also got to go to parties and IAB events, which are always fun and informative at the same time.

    Cons

The support from ad operation and customer service is not so great so sometimes you have to do other people's job in order to keep your customer

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make a bigger sales support team

I have been working at The Christian Post full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Love working as in house for a newspaper! I got to deal with copyright, employment, immigration, advertising and got to go to parties from ad agencies or large ad networks, which is always fun and edgy. I got to be exposed to a lot of fun stuff that my friends in law firms don't get to.

Great work life balance. You can go home usually at 5 or 6pm and not often have to work on weekends.

Also got to learn the business aspect of a business, which I consider beneficial to start my own business in law later.

    Cons

A lot of times you have to learn by yourself. There is no mentor system here in legal department, so you pretty much have to figure things out by yourself.

You also don't get to learn things deeply because there is this broad range of areas you have to work on. So good thing is you get to learn everything but on the flip side, you don't get to specialize in one area of law either.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more training for your legal department, maybe by getting outside counsels to come in once in a while to improve your legal team further.

I have been working at The Christian Post full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The company management is encouraging and sharing about their vision and growth outlook. Pretty exciting and challenging place to be in but there are plenty of opportunities to take advantage of to grow and learn.

HR is flexible about hours and time off. Generous commission for sales people.

Good health and dental insurance plan.

NY office is really nice, overlooking Ground Zero

    Cons

Communications between departments are not so often so you are often time working in silos.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have more meetings, especially between departments so each employee can work better understanding the company and where it's heading toward.

    Pros

The people here are very considerate of one another. The atmosphere is very friendly among colleagues and people genuinely care for one another. The management follows through on promises and I feel they are trying their best to help out. This really is a Christian company.

    Cons

We need more pizza and bagel days!
