I worked at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

    Great benefits
    Great Salary
    Wonderful working environment
    State of the art facilities

    Cons

Not much diversity in your coworkers
Work all day in a cubicle
Most jobs are contingent - only two years

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The Church values hard work and intuition. There are opportunities for promotions, though maybe not as many as in a normal company. There is definitely an emphasis on "Christ-like values", since this is a religious entity.

I have been working at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

    Pros

Supportive coworkers, positive culture, people are generally friendly and willing to help.

    Cons

There is a very top-down communication structure. It 's hard to send messages up the chain, especially outside of ICS. Everything goes through the CFO. Sometimes suggestions for improvement get misinterpreted as personal attacks rather than professional suggestions. Communication between portfolios is also poor. This is especially true when it comes to the HR department, which will sometimes change contracts or offers last-minute without notifying the employee, or without inviting concerned parties to contribute.

The two-year contingent contract has a reputation for being unsavory--not as many FTE positions available as one would hope.

The pay is ok, but the tips bring it up to a decent amount.
