I worked at The Collinson Group Ltd.

    Pros

Some really nice places to eat lunch in the area. Many lost souls in the same boat as you, so you all have the same opinion.

    Cons

The CEO and senior management are completely detached and kept apart from the true feelings of their workforce. Another place where the best people leave and your sense of worth is bullied down into dust until you stop believing in your own ability. Mis-fed information to keep you in check and possibly the worst comedy HR department I think I have ever come across - I'm not even sure what their role was!
Have since found that other companies are not like this and have subsequently regained some respect of my skills and experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As if they're ever going to read or take any notice of this!

I worked at The Collinson Group Ltd. full-time

    Pros

Great colleagues to work with and the only reason that you end up staying years!

    Cons

Career progression is non existent, management are too far into themselves and they think they are the best thing since sliced bread and anyone under them is junior and not important. They will blast any step you take towards progression and make you feel inferior. Working here is all about doing your best and quietly doing it. HR...what HR, it's management HR. CEO and his sons are more interested in what new companies they can create than to look after retaining valuable staff

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wake up and change your tactics, recognise and develop the staff that you have. Invest time and effort into developing their skills and ensuring they progress within the company.

I have been working at The Collinson Group Ltd. full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    good people and good location

    Cons

treat new employees as not important entities, no communication from manager on your roles or tasks, no appreciate or motivate given to employees. the work is too rigid, employees have no say, boring environment, manager don't recognize how to support the team when the individual is keen on moving forward and improve skills and talents,....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

make them feel motivate, listen and appreciate them, have regular chat on how the employees are coping with life and work, show interest on wanting to know the employees, realize that employees are the asset of the company.

I worked at The Collinson Group Ltd. full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Nice people within teams, nice location and pleasant environment. close to mainline transport services and a lovely park nearby to take a break in

    Cons

Terrible management from high level, treat employees like unimportant entities, no communication from management and changes implemented with no notice to employees, ridiculously large workload. Salaries do not match the workloads, nor do they match other people's doing the same jobs with the same level of expertise.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees, more importantly show them some appreciation. Communicate to your employees especially at times where morale is low and workloads are increased

I have been working at The Collinson Group Ltd.

    Pros

The freedom to be original with your ideas instead of just doing what everyone else in the market is doing.

    Cons

Too bureaucratic and poorly managed financially. Poor incentives given to staff who feel no great need to excel due to treating their role as a job rather than a career. Not enough value given to IT from Marketing/Sales even though IT creates and drives the products they try to sell.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When things constantly fail its about time to make changes, starting at the top of the chain instead of the bottom!
