    Pros

....no pros...I had to coax myself out of bed everyday to come into work and I was thankful when they closed our division down and laid us off.

    Cons

we had to screw customers over who were just trying to get theri REALLY expensive furniture repaired because it was damaged by the drivers we hired for deliveries who typically called in and were ALWAYS late to the customer's home.

    Advice to Management

How about you start working on your internal customer service and bring up the morale of your people. People sell things when they like their job.

  5. Manager

    I worked at The Dump

    Pros

Some awesome people within the organization top to bottom. Nice Salary for Managers plus Commission. Sales Associates have the opportunity to make a lot of money only working Part-Time Fri-Sun.

    Cons

Long Hours for Managers, work every weekend and during Holidays Managers can work 12 out of 13 days or more.

    Advice to Management

Everyone needs to get on the same page.

  6. One little mistake, and you get your butt chewed out.

I worked at The Dump part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Sales people were nice, compensation was nice for not doing too much work

    Cons

If you mess up one of the million tasks you have to remember, my boss got mad. Doesn't train very well.

    Advice to Management

Shouldn't chew people out for making one little mistake. Makes for a very uncomfortable working environment.

  7. Quality service provided by caring people

    I worked at The Dump

    Pros

The small, family owned and operated business was a good environment for learning new skills. Experienced people were willing to share their knowledge.

    Cons

The downturn of the economy and changes in technology ( such as non cost-effective to repair equipment ) caused reduced hours which eventually led to a lay off.

    Advice to Management

The boss was an extremely sharp and intelligent man who expected an employee to absorb new information at his exceptional level. This was not always possible, which often led to frustration. Have a little more patience...You have much to teach and impart to someone who is receptive but may not be able to learn at your pace.

    Pros

A good job to have while you are in school. You work weekends and holidays which leaves most of the week available for classes.

    Cons

There was so much turnover in the customer service department that I once manned the entire call centre for hours at a time because we didn't have enough representatives. The management of the call centre did not care at all about its employees but instead would simply fire and replace them. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for a long term career.

    Pros

I worked in the business office with about 5 others. My trainers, managers, and coworkers were great to be around. Everyone that I can recall working with, from the delivery drivers to sales associates, were happy. When I was hired the store was just opening and the smooth opening was impressive. The store manager was personable and sincere, which I was not expecting in this situation.

    Cons

I worked in the business office, but even then the hours weren’t the traditional 9-5. I had to work long shifts almost every weekend, but the shifts during the week were more traditional.
