    Pros

Very creative shop. Some of the most impactful and interesting projects in the industry. Always working with great brands and agencies. Good environment for collaboration, no politics. They have developed a nice teamwork focused atmosphere. The staff are really good at working together on tight deadlines.

    Cons

Creatives can be stubborn when it comes to certain creative ideas for clients. Sometimes they are right, sometimes they are wrong. When they are right, the clients really are happy. When they are wrong, they need to work faster to address client feedback.

    Advice to Management

Keep focusing on only the best projects.

    Pros

A very creative company that produces some beautiful work. A great opportunity to grow a career in a very specific field of work.

    Cons

    - long hours - they always try and negotiate your rate down as low as possible - owner of the company allows his own dog to be at the office but doesn't allow others to bring in their dogs. Kind of shady because they promote that they are a pet friendly shop and have puppy days.... - a lot of negative talk about projects and clients around the office - no communication between departments - no communication within departments - they promote an environment of learning but do not follow through - little to no light in the majority of the offices

    Advice to Management

Hire real producers. Work on structure and procedure. Improve the company morale so that you won't lose more valuable team members.

    Pros

The people at Famous are great. For the most part, everyone is hard-working and all team players. Unless someone's really busy, most people are willing to lend a hand to a fellow co-worker. The projects are usually fun too. While some nights are long, people are pretty up front with expectations. Nice, lax environment.

    Cons

The frequency of projects is up and down. Although that's to be expected with such a company, having a better process and method of communication from getting new business transitioning to production would be helpful. However, since some restructuring has occurred, this could improve soon. I suppose Famous prides itself on not being" corporate" or too structured, but sometimes that lack of structure/SOP is frustrating.

    Pros

Casual working environment; Lots of entertainment like basketball, pool table and BBQs; Creative and artistic coworkers. Very "free-style".

    Cons

Business strategy constantly changing; Management are not communicating with employees; Unclear job title and descriptions; Small company but want to act big with no proper set up structure; HR is a mess and so are the rules.

    Advice to Management

Need to have a firm business structure and not shifting all the time. Grow the roots and not jump right to growing the branches. Set up the foundation right then it's not a mess.

    Pros

Creative company, nice offices with a great downtown Culver City location. Good exposure to all kinds of production, digital work, and some great food. Plus you can bring your dog to work!

    Cons

The hours can get long when there are deadlines approaching. We stay late on some nights, but at least they buy dinner on those nights.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to work on communicating to its staff more regularly.

    Pros

Pretty decent equipment to work on. Lots of snacks and drinks on hand. You can bring your dog on puppy day and of course other employees will love you for it. SCRUMs every day. Great camaraderie amongst fellow contractors. Lest I forget, fantastic bbqs and bagel Fridays.

    Cons

Place is a bit dirty and unprofessional. Workers are somewhat packed like sardines. The culture between regular employees and "freelancers/contractors" is contentious. A full time employee can get a contractor out by whining enough, upper management will get rid of that freelancer to appease a full timer. The management will lie to you when they let you go so you don't make a stink. Management is a bit of a joke. The owner is there, but not really. I didn't see much interaction from him. Freelancers must keep their own hours and bill them to the company. This can lead to accusations of padding hours.

    Advice to Management

I'm sure you've lost a lot of very good programmers due to permies whining. Don't tell a freelancer that you're going to hire them in the future when you're not and don't let a permies whining make you let a good programmer go. Clean the place up, paint the walls and give programmers and other employees some room to work with. Treat all employees the same whether freelancer or permanent. Remember a freelancer is there for the good of the company, not to use it as an ATM. Have something to keep the hours freelancers work so there are no misunderstandings.

    Cons

They only have 3 bathrooms :(

    Pros

Good Salary. Good equipment. Nice building. OK people *(when they show up). Ping pong table. nothing more to be honest.

    Cons

The place is a mess. Very umprofessional, full of personal issues between workers, they use "freelance" as a word to use you and throw you away without warning. The whole mgmt system is a joke.

    Advice to Management

Just close the door and try again. This place is dead.

    Pros

The people at Famous are very kind and sociable, welcoming to new hires and generally nice people to work with. The office atmosphere is chill and not stress-inducing. There are regular barbecues, bring your dog to work days, company activities (especially in the kitchen) and games around the building. The work is creative work so it's not monotonous like most day jobs and the fun jobs make for a good experience at a relaxed place. I have and do recommend as a place of employment to friends.

    Cons

Lot of sports clients so if you're not into that kind of work... The hours can be long. Still a growing company, which is also a good thing.
