    Pros

Your residents and generally the people you work with from the top down. 401k match. Beautiful product to represent.

    Cons

Compensation is low. Commission is low and was constantly changing (of course reduced).

    Advice to Management

Be more proactive in your approach with employees and residents instead of reactive.

    Pros

There is always a job opening at multiple properties. Medical, 401k, average hourly. Mix off Upscale (A+) properties and "Upscale" (D-) properties the owner thinks are A+

    Cons

Marvy Finger, the owner, is delusional, screams at his employees rather then listening to the people who keep the company going. He is out of touch with his employees completely. It is very obvious that the man only cares about money and not the people that work hard to make it for him. Very High turn over, no job security, threat of termination is used as an intimidation tactic. Finger offers an annual 3% raise, but you will never get it. Bonuses offered but never paid, often commissions not paid to employees or Locators. Venders not paid in a timely manner. Rental rates are higher then other properties in the area of equal or better quality. Treats you like you are expendable. On call 24/7, No Training, refuses to pay any overtime and will have managers remove it from time cards! Finger is a tyrant and intimidates upper management to intimidate properties teams. Benefits aren't worth the stress of the job. Employees are just numbers and income, not people.

    Advice to Management

Respect the people that are the foundation of your company, from the regional managers and corporate support all the way down to the porters. Threat people like human beings. Employees should be able to separate work and home life. There is a difference between employees and servants/slaves. You would have NOTHING with out the people that work for you that personally give up their freedoms on a daily basis to make you money. Don't require your employees to do impossible tasks if you aren't willing to do it yourself... Have you ever even tried to physically lease an apartment at your ridiculous rates? Have you ever physically done the jobs of the porters, maid, maintenance, make ready, leasing, bookkeeper, managers, etc? Get to actually know the people you employ! We are real people with our own real personal struggles. Go out to the properties and talk to each employee, listen to their ideas, wants, needs, and provide the teams with the tools they need to do their jobs and make their work lives happier. This will make a huge difference!

    Pros

I've worked with some great people. I hope that I continue to work with those who understand and make it ok to come to work.

    Cons

Micro managed, yelling, screaming. Expectations that you can't reach and bonuses that never can be achieved. Do you homework before starting here. You will regret it.

    Advice to Management

Stop the turnover. Someone needs to take charge and make this a good environment to work in.

    Pros

Nice property, nice residents, decent pay.

    Cons

Bonuses come with a price, management and employers are selfish, rude, uncompromising. Expect to have no life other than work with a very unfair schedule. Expect to be yelled at. Employees are not treated well and the expectations are unreachable as nothing is good enough. Mr Finger is extremely rude. Nothing is what is seems before you take the job. Expect to be completely micromanaged... God forbid you wear anything but exactly what they want. Good luck paying for that too. shopping bonus will end up out of your pocket once you decide you hate working here.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like they are human and deserve respect. Start recognizing their needs and stop only serving your own. Stop lying to your employees to entice them into a job here and then completely denying all you promised. Do not yell at your hard working employees. Recognize abusive situations and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Start monitoring just how productive your MANAGERS ARE instead of how productive the leasing agents make them LOOK. Managers need to do their job instead of pawning their work onto everyone else. ROTATE WEEKENDS! Make employees stay and want to work hard by providing an non-hostile, honest, respectful, and fair work environment.

    Pros

Employees are well compensated and benefits are average but not bad. Most properties are the nicest in the area and the company is not afraid to spend money when necessary to stay competitive. There is no structured training, but if you stick it out, you will have a great sense of how to effectively run a business. Uniform allowance is a plus and you get to choose your uniforms (within reason). I have worked for several major management companies and The Finger Companies is by far my favorite. We work hard, but anyone that strives to be successful works hard. When you do something crazy...you will know about it. :-) Current VP of Management is approachable and reasonable. Assistance from corporate employees is usually easy to come by. Mr. Finger has always been available for advice and is responsive to my suggestions.

    Cons

If you aren't willing to earn the above average salary you are paid by working extra hours and going the extra mile for your residents, you won't like working for The Finger Companies.

    Pros

A wide range of beautiful upscale properties. Good base pay. Good benefits. Full and part-time positions. Dress code allows you to wear fashionable clothing.

    Cons

No Training. Unrealistic expectations. Unqualified management-Poor role models. Leasing agents expected to entirely run property without the support of management. Don't expect to get paid for commissions earned. Insufficient technology and office supplies. Favoritism and excuses made for unqualified, low class management. Management spends more time during business hours taking care of their personal business than they do focusing on property business, No consistency. No matter how hard you work, you are constantly threatened with loosing your job. Does not protect employees against violent residents. Management disappears for hours to run personal errands while still being on the clock. Hiring over qualified professionals and drowning them in administrative duties making it impossible to perform the duties of the position they were hired for. Make promises of advancement at time of hire, but it doesn't take long after you start that you discover that is a lie. Not allowed to work over-time that is necessary to do the job, but you are still expected to complete task. If you want to perform all the duties of a property manager without the title or pay, then you might want to work here!

    Advice to Management

Training for all positions. Be committed to the job during business hours .... not your personal life!
