Cons
because of the size of the organization, sometimes hard to feel recognized and get promoted. because of the industry, salaries are ok
Advice to Senior Management

Cons

Advice to Senior Management
keep the course, dont easily change minds
Pros
Flexible schedule, great discount! Co-workers were always pleasant and management was great, very understanding, fun environment, loved the music!
Cons
No opportunity for advancement, salary sucks
Advice to Senior Management
Management was always great, it's not their fault that at the corporate level Gap kind of blows!
Pros
Good people, fun atmosphere, skilled management at retail level.
Cons
GapCards, GapCards, GapCards. I know there is a lot of pressure on store managers to hit GapCard goals that come down from above; however, good customer service is often put secondary as a result. Associates are constantly reminded to constantly remind everyone that walks through the door about GapCards. There is a fine line between informing customers about a promotion and pestering or haranguing them about it. I feel that line is too often crossed.

Pros
Management will work with your availability. If you are full-time, good Health benefits and 401K. Opportunity for growth is excellent if you work for the right people/location. A great work environment when working for the right people/location.
Cons
If you work for the wrong people, your experience can be a lot worse. Either due to lack of proper training, proper accountability, immaturity, opportunities for growth can be quite hampered.
Advice to Senior Management
Every store has its own chemistry, be sure you shop at the store you want to apply at and get a feel for the management and general atmosphere among all its associates. You can tell whether you truly want to work at one location over another simply based on this fact alone!
Pros
Discount
Involvement in the community / volunteer is encouraged
Vacation time (4 weeks in 1 calendar year)
Cons
Employment opportunities / Career development
Micro-managers
Weak raises compared to competitors
Upper management needs training on soft skills
Pros
great employee discount
works well with school schedule
Cons
low pay
lousy work schedule
emphasis on GAP CARDS
Pros
The pay was low, but the flexible schedule worked well with my college schedule.
Cons
Low pay. No room for advancement. Promotions were given based on favoritism, not ability. Too much emphasis on credit card enrollment, rather than customer service skill.
Advice to Senior Management
Better sales training and less emphasis on credit card enrollment.
