    Pros

    Room for career advancement for younger staff.
    Ability to work on and travel to projects around the world.
    Upper management is open to ideas.
    Everyone is treated with respect.
    Design principals have the patience to mentor and teach.
    No micro management.
    Your colleagues will become your friends.
    Transparent business practices.

    Cons

    Upper management in the head office does not mix with junior staff.
    Lack of communication from upper management about direction of company.

    Actually take the time to know each and every person you employ.
    Offer tuition reimbursement.
    Share more information about the other offices.

    Pros

    Their projects will look nice in your portfolio.
    The managing director in Hong Kong is a fair person who will help you and your design abilities to grow professionally.
    Amazing colleagues.

    Cons

    The company has changed and except for the offices in Hong Kong and Miami, women are not promoted as much as men. Management no longer treat women fairly in this company.

    Promote and hire more women in leadership roles.

    Procurement In-House, Great Social Working Culture

    Must conform to their way of life & work style or else you get ran over
    Upper Management hardly ever interact with the lower working ants

    Pros

    1. Senior Leadership is comprised of talented, creative and forward thinking individuals.
    2. Fun, relaxed culture is a marriage between left brain and right brain thinking.
    3. Great benefits package
    4. Approachable and supporting administrative staff
    5. Exciting and rewarding projects.
    6. Great location in the heart of River North

    1. Office layout and design could use a touch-up
    2. More team building or related events outside of the office.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I would recommend management share the success stories from individual projects and project teams to the entire studio. This would help celebrate and inspire the creative staff.

    Pros

    -exposure to larger scale of projects
    -at smaler offices you get to see different aspects of the projects

    Cons

    -demotion is often practiced here, if you had a higher position at another firm, they will tell you you're not good enough and need to accept a lower position and prove yourself to them
    -after the demotion, obvious they won't pay you very much for what you're worth
    -in order for them to grow, you will need to stop growing, so they have more money to hire more people
    -very corporate
    -management is a failure
    -filled with lies
    -more business oriented
    -fast turn around
    -at one of the locations, 9 people quit within a month; while at another, no one has worked there for more than a year; something to be said about that.

    Treating people fair is a good start; abusing employees' talent and effort is not the way to run a business, nor a way to be successful.
