    Pros

Working with terrific kids and spending the entire day contained in classroom. Mandatory hour long lunch breaks & frequent schedule changes.

    Cons

Resources very limited to non-existent. Non-supportive management making decisions without observations. Expected to work at home & off the clock.

    Advice to Management

Provide resources & materials for what you sell. Be more involved with classrooms.

I worked at The Goddard School (Less than a year)

    Pros

Bellevue area pay for private school teacher, Goddard system itself alright

    Cons

New school, seems much more like a daycare facility rather than a private school.Felt like working with a group of sorority girls in their early 20s whom share jello shots during staff functions. Total racial divide between the younger and mainly caucasian staff and the staff of different culture. New school with site owner who has no clue! for example during cinco de mayo event the site owner taught students that cinco de mayo and tacos came from south america then proceeded to show a globe map of mexico and pointed towards india. children also were fed awful snacks no nutrients, rotted fruit and some days all snacks would be cheese/dairy related

    Advice to Management

    get a clue

I worked at The Goddard School full-time

    Pros

great curriculum resources, great place to develop teaching skills in early childhood, well maintained facilities and supplies, selective admissions process, supportive owner/director - although this will vary from school to school since they are individually owned and operated, lots of opportunities for professional development

    Cons

pay is low (very low), demanding job (long hours), high expectations for performance, workload especially for leads is heavy and you are expected to complete a fair amount of it on your own time (although that is true for any teaching job), minimal planning time given during the day, administering consquences for kids' negative behavior is difficult with no administrative backbone
