I have been working at The Hackett Group full-time

    Pros

    - S&O group has good people/good culture - Good opportunity for younger staff to gain breadth of experience - Good brand awareness with CFOs - G&A benchmark offering provides good sales entry point - Reasonable level of autonomy if numbers are met

    Cons

    - No real growth strategy - Limited opportunity to move into firm management - Management focus/investment in IP-driven offerings (Benchmarking, Advisory) even though majority of revenue is driven by consulting (Transformation) groups - Bonus payments have been irregular

    Advice to Management

    - Need to articulate a better strategy -- current strategy isn't compelling enough for young staff to stay

I worked at The Hackett Group full-time

    Pros

There are some very bright professionals that have come to the firm through the acquisition of Oracle EPM firms.

    Cons

The is a distinct cultural wall between those designated as 'transformation' and those designated as 'tech'

    Advice to Management

Start over. Merge trans and tech into one team.

I have been working at The Hackett Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Steady utilization. Mostly good projects and a chance to work with many good people. Good salary structure if you have experience. Previous bonus structure.

    Cons

New bonus structure instituted two years ago is terrible. Totally subjective and no insight into how it's calculated. Bonuses are 50% of what they use to be and no adjustment to base salary. Many unhappy employees due to this fact. No training policy in place. I've been to one training class the entire time I've been employed here.

    Advice to Management

Either increase employee salaries or make adjustment to bonus calculations before you lose your valued employees.

I worked at The Hackett Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The delivery staff are a great group of individuals. Very knowledgeable and excellent at satisfying clients. The intellectual capital library is very robust but at time somewhat dated. I would recommed the company to a friend after I told them what they were getting into.

    Cons

Most bonuses are very small to non-existent. Great performance does not equate to any type of bonus. Most of the year-end cash goes to paying large bonuses to senior management.

    Advice to Management

    Share the wealth.

    Advice to Management

Unless the leadership team is gone, there's no advice to give here.

The Hackett Group baited me with a great job description and then switched it into a role that I had no interest in.

I have been working at The Hackett Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    There were free snacks

    Cons

No work/life balance. Employees in my office were treated like slaves. My direct supervisor was a passive aggressive person who would send me IMs from his desk 10 feet away instead of talking to me like a normal person.

    Pros

My peers were smart, talented, hardworking individuals.

    Cons

Oppressive micro-management regime Duties were not as described in interview/offer Ever changing job description Not a forward thinking organization Horrible work/life balance More like a slave than employee Management has no respect for subordinates or peers Sub-par benefits package Don't expect a raise... ever.

    Advice to Management

When things are constantly broken, look at who is running the department

    Pros

it was a paycheck - no more

    Cons

short term outlook for managing the business is driven by upper mgt looking to cash out as driving force behind the company strategy - leads to consistent short term policies and no interest in retention of staff, customers or long term good will of either.

    Advice to Management

    sell out soon

    Pros

The concept behind a full service solution makes for a great sales pitch. The compensation is above average.

    Cons

Constant turnover. Bottom line and quarterly results drive most decisions which leads to employees always worrying about if they'll keep their jobs. Your fate has less to do with your capability and more about billing.

    Advice to Management

Share the wealth. Senior management seems to be filling their pockets while leaving the "little people" behind.
