Pros
The company cares about work/life balance
Cons
Management pigeon holes individuals to make themselves appear better. No real development opportunities unless you have a kodak photo.
Advice to Senior Management
You have applied Murphy's law to perfection. You truly do not hold anyone accountable for the decisions rendered or outcomes desired.
Pros
Large, professional environment. People are generally happy with their position and managers. Clear processes for how to get things done. This may vary by location though outside of CT.
Cons
The technology abilities are a bit behind compared to other organizations. At times it seems the senior leaders get caught up in more politics than necessary.
Advice to Senior Management
There has been a lot...almost too many organizational and leadership changes over the past 2 1/2 years and the employees need some stability back,
Pros
"high tech" for an insurance company.
Cons
Too much time spent in meetings (i.e. takes too long to make a decision).
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on brand
Pros
A fairly decent PTO policy as far as work life balance and time off.
Good onsite fitness center and wellness programs.
Cons
incompetent project managers
offshore resources with zero insurance background replaced many long-time employees with years of experience
atmosphere of withholding information to hang onto your job
employees held responsible for offshore consultant job performance
constant change in management
IT department reorganized numerous times, resulting in some employees reporting to more than 5 different managers within a year
Advice to Senior Management
treat long-term emplyees with the respect and appreciation that they have earned and deserve
Pros
Casual dress policy and pto days are great
Cons
too micro management and no investment in employees
Advice to Senior Management
lead by example
Pros
The paid time off
co workers are friendly
HR is friendly
Cons
micromanaged (they watch EVERYTHING you do)
floor sales managers are awful and underdeveloped
training program for sales is AWFUL
Sales floor operates like a meat market and rampant favoritism
Company lied in interview about the state exam..you are given a book and have to teach yourself
Advice to Senior Management
Hire all new people, the managers seem as if they do not have past a seventh grade education
Pros
Decent salary and benefit; flexible work arrangement allows you to work from home.
Cons
Poor atmosphere and environment to work in. Not the friendliest employees and poor selection of managers (incompetent managers in dealing and relating to employees).
Pros
Great time off, but it's stress full to work there that's why so much time is given.
Cons
Being monitored for every single thing we do.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat your employees with the same standad we are expected to treat our customers.
Pros
Good work life balance, the hours are very reasonable
Decent pay and bonuses for the work
Large company with lots of locations
Cons
Real premium placed on insurance experience, hard to make a career if you have not grown up as an underwriter
Fairly constant level of change and little feeling of security
Advice to Senior Management
Make a plan and stick to it. There are too many changes announced that are half baked and not fully vetted.
Pros
vacation time
ability to work from home
team members are great
Cons
work life balance and career advancement
Advice to Senior Management
development of employees and career advancement opportunities
