Great work environment with great people.

    Marketing Analyst (Former Employee)
    Boston, MA

ProsVery open and not an incredibly "corporate" feel. I worked in Boston for six months and was able to meet the highest level management in the office, as well as those who visited from out of state.

ConsThe department I was in had been recently acquired from another company, and was actually just sold to yet another company. I believe the total count is four sales/acquisitions within five years. As a result, some of my coworkers did not have the greatest sense of job security.

ProsFlexibility, Training, Advancement, Opportunities, and the type of work is personally rewarding.

ConsTakes a special person to cope with volume. More work than can be done, requiring more than a 40 hour work week.

Advice to Senior ManagementImprove on the spot recognition program with higher money incentives. It needs to be more meaningful. Thanks you's are nice but sometimes $$ is warranted to promote excitement and energy.

They always do the right thing

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Atlanta, GA

ProsWhile I worked there, they were very forward-thinking with respect to HR management, invested in their staff - particularly with their emerging leadership program, and always erred on the side of doing the right thing. Highly ethical and highly respected.

ConsStandard bureaucracy of a larger company, not particularly innovative from a product perspective, poor recent financial performance

Advice to Senior ManagementEnjoyed working there, learned a lot, was a shame my division was sold off.

    Pros-Flexible
    -Nice People
    -Want you to succeed
    -Instill loyalty
    -Tuition reimbursement
    -My manager was amazing
    -Team oriented
-They try to promote from within

ConsStill a call center, some managers are still backstabbing and will not work with you or look for reasons to get rid of you

Advice to Senior ManagementGet rid of the supervisors that don't let their employers get promoted! Find more ways besides "paper" to get people off the phone.

W would recommend this company to my friends and my children

ConsSometimes people did have the same sense of urgency that I posessed
Budget constraints often limited our initiatives
Senior managers were not always open to suggestions from the troops

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThere is a lot of freedom in how I perform my job. I have a good supervisor who trusts me to do the right thing. I am recognized for my abilities and rewarded for them.

ConsI haven't experienced any so far, but my job is different from probably 95% of what others do in the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementThey need to continue to hire the best people available and cull out those who are not doing a good job.

Great place to work and good time to join

    Business/IT Analyst (Current Employee)
    Hartford, CT

ProsThe hartford is currently going through a reorganization where there is a shift in attitude of employees where feedback is very important and one-ness is also very important. The hartford had a lot of redundant processes so there is a move to fix this problem. Also, overall, work/life balance here is very important. If you need time off there's no issues at all. It's also a great place to team build because people are into Happy Hours and doing things together to socialize and become a stronger team.

ConsI can't really say that there are too many downsides, but one is that things tend to take a while because the sense of urgency in people isn't extremely great. This will come with culture shift, though, to a more united organization with updated processes. That said, a lot of the processes are quite old but are being updated today.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work! It's a great idea to include new talent!
