    Pros

Great benefits are provided and it is in a professional office environment.

    Cons

Not as upper-level as my prior professional experiences and expertise would allow.

    Pros

Laid back work environment, casual dress code, PTO

    Cons

Benefits have been declining, management not appreciative, heavy work-load, steady turnover, does not pay as much as other competitors in town

    Advice to Management

Don't hire new people at a higher salary than existing employees without increasing current employee salary. Hire at a more consistent rate so when there is turnover the workload isn't unbearable. Salary needs to be more competitive.

    Pros

Lots of pto, fun atmosphere , lots of food

    Cons

Bad management, can't take time off, our center is treated like the bottom of the barrel

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees more, don't put "college degree preferred" if u won't consider someone without one for a higher position.

    Pros

It's all about what position you're in. Specialty underwriting is very interesting. Many opportunities to promote. Many of my coworkers started off in service ops and promoted up to underwriting. Best in industry training program for underwriting. If you become an underwriter here, don't be afraid of specialty opportunities like Tech and Life Science, Sales UW, etc.

    Cons

It's a large company so it can be political and bureaucratic at times - to be expected and no worse than any other conpany I've worked at.

    Advice to Management

Salaries are good, but some competitors offer more to experienced professionals. Increase salaries to keep more experienced talent.

    Pros

Excellent training program & great benefits. If you are someone who wants a stable job, consistent hours, and being a part of The Hartford's awesome history/reputation, this is the place for you

    Cons

unfortunately, it has the lowest pay in the industry, hence the extremely high turnover.

    Advice to Management

More in regards to marketing - it's very difficult to understand people screaming to stop sending them "junk mail", most of the time, you don't even have a chance to take them off the solicitation

    Pros

    There are no pros.

    Cons

Pay sucked, the other employees talk about you even if you never speak to them or you are kind to them, people lie, adjusters are mean to callers proving the steriotype about adjusters is true, they will lie, yell, and try to make people say something happen that didn't. they belittle people on the phones. I will never work in the industry ever again let alone for this company.

    Advice to Management

This company is so messed up no one can help them. clean house and improve the culture. It is disgusting.

    Pros

Benefits were great. Hartford prides themselves on great quality of work, "outsourcing" does not reflect that.

    Cons

Promotions were given to chosen favorites. Training was not always available as promised.

    Advice to Management

Need to be aware of what their "consultants" are doing in lieu of micro managing the lower level employees.
