I worked at The Hillman Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good car expenses Freedom to set own schedule

    Cons

upper management has never been in the field and has no understanding of it. Company run to make money for investment group. Employees are a 2nd thought. any advancement put you on salary and 60hr weeks for a net decrease in income

    Advice to Management

Get the account managers into their account stores so they understand how they do business, instead of making choices from behind a desk. Get upper management out in the field with the Reps so they can learn or relearn what the sales rep job requires.

I have been working at The Hillman Group full-time

    Pros

One of the many reasons I enjoyed working for Hillman Group would have to be they were always a chance of career Advancement.

    Cons

If I would have to say a downside it would have to be the fact that no matter if you have an emergency/Family emergency you will acquire points that could potentially lead to termination.

    Advice to Management

I would say be a little more understanding when it comes to Family emergency's.

    Pros

Nice staff. Good company morals in Cincinatti - Tempe does not align to those values.

    Cons

Ineffective management who are too arrogant to listen to reality and instead drive projects that cannot be successful. MAnagement that does not let the team do their jobs but instead micromanage and in turn ruin careers.

    Advice to Management

Don't cut off your nose to spite your face. When you are told you need to improve processes, recognize that the intent is to make the business successful, not make an arrogant executive look like an idiot. And don't bet your reputation on a project that is not do-able in your timeframe. Listen to your team.
