    Pros

Awesome facilities (gym, dry cleaners, food court, pharmacy), a lot of young professionals, great part of town

    Cons

With such a large, complex organization, I would have benefitted from a more detailed description of the different business units when I started

I worked at The Home Depot full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Really smart people and innovative projects. They are definitely executing a strategic vision to be the best.

    Cons

Very demanding, high expectations. There's not enough time to do things well. Even strong resources eventually get enough assignments that they are unable to stay on top of everything and quality and happiness suffer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider hiring more staff. Even if its focusing on junior resources, spreading the work would be helpful

I worked at The Home Depot full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    - Once you get in it's HARD to get fired.
    - Bonus is good since stock has been hot.

    Cons

    - No upward movement
    - Do things the wrong way "just because" (and everyone agrees it's the wrong way)
    - Technology stack is about 8 years behind the industry
    - Architects and senior people are not qualified to be working in technology
    - Management is all about CYA and blame game, no care about quality.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Pay attention to long term costs and decision of doing things the wrong way. Management is constantly doing something fast just to get something done just to meet a deadline. However doing something fast ALWAYS cost more man hours later with poor quality software.

I have been working at The Home Depot full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Home Depot is a great company to work for. You drive your career. Sky is the limit.

    Cons

16.00 Dollars is too low for this position. Due to the nature of the work this job should pay closer to $40k per year. These are not your typical one and done customer service issues. These are very complex complaints and one you speak to the customer you own it until the issue is resolved.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider making this a salaried position that starts at 35k for level 1 expediters and 40k for level 2 and specialty team members. This will decrease the turn over rate and it will enable associates to be able to pay their bills. This would make a happy associate which will in return make happier customers.

I have been working at The Home Depot full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great place to have a stable job, work to life balance is a positive since workload is manageable. Room for lateral movement to new departments once you're in the company.

    Cons

Fair amount of turnover due to dissatisfied employees. Compensation is not on par with comparable jobs, this contributes to the high turnover. Most company values appear to just be surface level and not ingrained in the culture.
