Former Employee – worked at The Jones Group full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Some of the coworkers were great to work with. The time off was great. We got Holiday bonuses and a lot of overtime.
Cons – The supervisors were all trouble makers and enjoyed playing high school games to toy around with their employee's positions. Most of the time they were busy fighting each other. Sometimes we had to work 6 days straight and give back our Holiday off at short notice.
Advice to Senior Management – Hire more mature supervisors and have the supervisors under direct supervision.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Cons – As in many companies now, profits rule and drive the company. Need to remember people matter.

Former Employee – worked at The Jones Group full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Good benefits, that's about it.
Cons – Ridiculous sales goals, lack of hours.
Advice to Senior Management – Putting so much pressure on people, that they are just walking out. The demands do not equal the rewards. The salaries are a lot less then some of the competitors. I had 4 weeks of vacation, but could only take a week off at a time, even though the store had plenty of coverage and noone else was on vacation. Not a whole lot opportunities for growth.

Current Employee – been working at The Jones Group full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Job security. The potential to restore venerable, widely recognized brand names like Anne Klein. Good benefits.
Cons – Too many companies under one masthead that never really merged. Wholesale mentality drives retail organization. Everyone doesn't share email address (@jny, @ninewest, etc), much less vision for brands.
Advice to Senior Management – Marketing doesn't know what they don't know, so they don't ask. Why has no customer asked what happened to Lloyd Boston, or who's Wendy. Instead they call it Jones OF New York. Mktg thinks they're in Devil Wears Prada, while customer is ethnic, plus-sized, teacher, who likes to be shown what matches what. Oh, and customer can spell - another big difference. QA standards for national campaigns must be raised across the board.

Current Employee – been working at The Jones Group
Pros – Great product to work with. Company generally supports employees' decisions provided they have good reasons. Company offers generous discount and decent insurance plans.
Cons – Sales goals are set at unattainable goals (+30% to +60%) thus preventing bonuses from being paid out. Payroll has been cut so low that management works by themselves most of the time presenting ample opportunity for shoplifting and/or other crimes. Management's schedule is pretty much open to close 5 days a week. May not have more than one weekend off per month and may not have 2 days off in a row. Part time associates are scheduled for as little as 3 hours for a shift and not more than 5.5 in rare circumstances. Company claims to be flexible with family life; they may allow a life outside of work for those that work in the corporate office but only expect more and more from those that work the retail side.
Advice to Senior Management – Time off parameters must be reassessed for the store management level. This position puts in about 50 hours a week and deserves an extra perk; this is one perk that wouldn't cost the company anything either. In addition, why must the store manager work a minimum of 44 hours? What is the purpose?

Current Employee – been working at The Jones Group
Pros – Benefits-time off, insurance is decent
People I work with are wonderful
Cons – Retail-outrageous sales goals
Automated scheduling makes home life non-exsistent
Bonuses impossible
Poor decision making on corporate level
Advice to Senior Management – Ask the retail division what is best for their businesses! Honest feedback-not positive feedback so we don't hurt corporates feelings

Former Employee – worked at The Jones Group
Pros – Discount on clothes and near home. Also it was nice to see what's new before the general public.
Cons – Corporate Office does not have good over-sight of the store management team. The store manager showed blatant favoritism and lack of integrity.
Advice to Senior Management – Need to have a cohesive and diverse team with various talents and experiences to reach all clientele. A “friendly” group, comprised of referrals by existing team members may signal an underhanded collaboration and financial loss for the company. Beware, when the entire team gangs up to fire one member ---this may very well signal an attempt to eliminate a potential “snitch”.
