    Pros

very flexible with you, immediate management was able to recognize a job well done

    Cons

Upper management (at corporate level) had no flexibility what so ever. But it is corporate and they are only doing what they are told to do.

    Pros

    Always hiring and clean environment

    Cons

Consistent with their lay offs, at least twice a year for the past 5years. The talent within the company is grossly overlooked and mismanaged. The long time managers are powerful and they more concerned about maintaining their position in every sense of their word, more than anything else. They restrict true innovative thinkers and problem solvers to maintain and protect their old ways of thinking. There are no designers in this company, all the do is copy patterns and ideas from other brands outside the company, regurgitating their bargain basement version of someone else's idea. They don't respect their employees as human beings with lives and families causing never ending frustration amongst the employees and lastly, their idea of adequate salary for an experienced professional is borderline obscene.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote creativity, respect your employees (NO- we are not just numbers) and STOP sending all the jobs to CHINA. Keep the jobs in the USA and do your part to help the economy.

    Cons

Some weeks were filled with busy work with the occasional staff meeting, but most times they keep you busy doing some type of assignment

    Pros

Continued training and ideas to be the best in woman's fashion

    Cons

Nothing negative to say on the company. I truly enjoy being a team member!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The Jones Group has Core Values that allow their employees to balance work and family. For retail I feel they compensate a little better than most as they truly look at the associates background to ensure they are offering suitable compensation.

I have been working at The Jones Group full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, discount, a lot of free clothes and holiday bonuses. Ability to balance work - life and personal life. The availability to apply for a different position or department with in a year. Work load manageable and training is available through the learning center.

    Cons

Office culture is very unprofessional. Bullying and harassment is a comment accuracy and there is barely any reprimanding for those who are doing it. This creative a very uncomfortable work environment. Management very questionable and a lot for favoritism.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mandatory yearly diversity and sensitivity in the workplace for management training classes.

I worked at The Jones Group full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great stepping stone! Learn what you can, take advantage and/or initiate any possible opportunities to own a special project for recognition and to build your resume, then run like hell!

    Cons

Lots of bullying from upper management in a toxic and outright unprofessional atmosphere wear swearing, breaking pencils, pounding on desks and slamming doors is the new norm. Everyone is under massive amounts of constant stress to get an impossible amount of work done. Deadlines almost always compete and no mater what you choose to tackle first, you chose wrong. Supervisors/Directors can almost never agree on any one thing which results in religiously contradicting directions from the multiple supervisors you have and leaves the innocent "work horse" to decide which suit to follow and which to upset. No one is approachable and the nicest of people will gladly stab you in the back the moment you turn around to avoid admitting a mistake. Everything is a fire to put out - management does not know or care how to lead others, they are only concerned on how quickly they can unload their deadlines and messy confusion onto their many "nameless" associates. Not a healthy environment for anyone who values work/life balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not everything can be a fire! Management should talk- not scream- amongst themselves first (that is what you get paid for) on what tasks and projects are worthy of marking "urgent" before handing over to associates who will inevitably disappoint. If you set your team up to fail = they will do just that! Unless you want your associates to work until midnight every night, they need more clarity and direction on what is right for the business without the unnecessary fires, drama and needless distractions.

I have been working at The Jones Group full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Fairly decent benefits. Good place to learn a little before you can move on to your dream company that requires some years of experience before you apply.

    Cons

Working at Jones right now or interviewing you will hear that the company is in the middle of a "transition", which they have been saying to justify the lower salary they will offer. You do not move up easily in the company, no matter how much of an "asset" you might be to your specific team. Jones is a place to build up skill and go, like younger people do, or settle in a mediocre environment, like the remaining group from the "old jones" when it was all good.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you have good employees, pay them well and treat them well. The bottom of the food chain is the actual power source, not the top. Without good employees there is no good work.
