I have been working at The Kennedy Center full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Work with excellent people
    Have fun at work
    Trainings are rarely boring
    Highly rewarding work assignments
    Easy to advance quickly
    Lots of benefits

    Cons

The pay is very low for the type of work you do, not enough to live off of.
Can be very stressful, especially with difficult clients or families.
The company is underfunded and understaffed, so employees are spread thin.
Employees can gossip and criticize each other's performance in unhelpful ways

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote kindness in the workplace, as well as flexible attitudes.
And if possible, try to get more funding. (I know money is tight.)

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook

I worked at The Kennedy Center

    Pros

Good company with a good mission. Laid back atmophere

    Cons

Good if you are looking to gain experience dealing with the developmentally disable, however most people stay there a few years to get experience and then move on to State jobs. The wages are embarassing and there hasn't been raises in years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get more funding from the state to raise wages, they are a joke

    Doesn't Recommend
