    Pros

    Cabanas were fun and always had a party atmosphere. Great place to work in your youth. Mostly seasonal jobs at the pool.

    Cons

    Some of the hotel executives took advantage of the perks of their job. They also wanted to be treated like they were paying customers.

    Advice to Management

    This goes for everyone, you must earn your respect.

    Pros

    It was a good customer service experience. They had great benefits and there were a lot of perks from working in the concierge. Management was approachable.

    Cons

    For some reason the concierge department didn't function like a normal concierge. We weren't allowed to book all normal amenities. We were restricted in our commissions (unlike ALL of the other hotels on the strip).

    Advice to Management

    Not sure if it's since been updated. If not, improve your commission and tipping restrictions. Basically allow the department to function as a full-service concierge.

    I worked at The Mirage full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The only positve part was that I did enjoy some of my former colleagues.

    Cons

    I came into this position with high hopes and full of ambition. At first I was praised beyond belief and then overnight everything changed. This is not a place where professionalism is key. They sold the atmosphere as a 'team', only to micromanage and make you do the work of your own manager. There was little to no communication from the management down, but you were expected to know what they want. It is a hostile work environment where mean girls with mediocre skills prevail. There are regular outbursts and continuous negativity. They will find a way to bring you down, despite how much they tell you how well you are doing. To be allowed to attend a meeting relevant to your job is considered a "privilege." This was a very dissapointing experience and I would NEVER recommend this position to anyone that has a mind of their own and a truly professional demeanor. It will not be appreciated. Out of 10 employees in office, 8 of which are managers. Rampant power trips and personal complexes. They do not respect Designers. They spoke ill of ALL of their previous employees, making fun of them publicly and personally. Even going so far as to write names on a whiteboard with descriptions such as "lazy", "looser", "druggie," etc.

    Advice to Management

    Learn to understand and respect what Designers actually do everyday. Learn some professionalism and common human decency and please get off your high horses, you're really not that bright.

    None. If I could give this job a 0 I would!

    Cons

    This was the worst job I've ever had in Special Events! Don't do it! Worst upper management who doesn't know how to lead a team. Your opinions are worthless and you will get taken advantage of. Also , did I mention MICROMANAGE!? All employees have left because of this.

    Advice to Management

    Don't be such a bully! Appreciate your employees!

    Loved the opportunities provided to existing employees. Straight forward policies. Great perks as a concierge.

    Frequent management turnover. Lots of politics.

    Good pay Lots of hours

    Cons

    The job becomes your life. If they need you and you don't answer your phone that will be points taken from attendance. So if you have another job or go to school, give it up if you take a job here. Also lots of favoritism towards Spanish workers.

    Show more appreciation towards your employees
